Nozel's Strange Encounter {Black Clover}

Prologue

a/n: i don't give a fuck if you hate original characters, this is my fic and i will do what i want <33 the main character will be introduced in the story so if you enjoy this just let me know and i will add more chapters! otherwise, i will just keep writing this for myself :3 art of the mc + nozel will come if i get enough traction

footnotes: the main character is not actually a child, even if there are references to her being young. she is unfamiliar with human customs, nothing more.

{Nozel's POV}
Nozel was asked by the wizard king to check out the weird fluctuations in mana in the forest on the border of the Clover Kingdom, adjacent to the Heart Kingdom. There had been reports of strange bursts of energy popping up all over the forest there and the local townsfolk were worried.

He agreed, reluctantly, and gathered a small squad of Silver Eagles together to go check it out. He arrived at the forest after a long while, but could already feel a shift in the energy around him. He looked around the forest for more than half of the day before he got close to the source of the odd energy that he was feeling.

{MC's POV}
I was traveling through the forest, having narrowly escaped the men who had been holding me hostage. My body was severely damaged and I could barely move. I was limping along a pathway when I heard branches snapping nearby.

I painfully but quickly jumped into the trees, climbing as high as I could. It was mostly to hide from the noises, as they could've been the men I was trying to escape from. I tried to see if I could get a view of where the noise came from and saw several humans. One of them was a man, sporting a braid over his forehead with a blue cross clip attached. The man wore regal clothing and appeared to be an astute mage. 'He must be a noble here...' I thought to myself. The man had several men behind him, with their grimoires out. 'I need to get a better look...'

I tried to lean forward, wanting to see if I could get a good look at the men's faces. When I leaned over, I ended up losing my balance and fell down through the trees, landing almost directly in front of the strange man. Once I hit the ground, my head landed hard on a rock, knocking me out.

{Nozel's POV}
Nozel watched something fall from the trees, landing in front of him. He was disoriented at first, not knowing what was in front of him. It was clear that this creature was the source of the strange mana but it was... just a girl.

As he stepped closer to the unconscious form, he realized that whatever it was, it definitely was not from around here. The creature appeared to have elf-like ears but she also had crystalline wings... which elves certainly do not have. The wings on her back were folded over each other, similar to a beetle's elytra. The girl appeared to have fresh burns and cuts all over her body, and her wings were slightly torn.

Nozel crouched down to examine the girl closer, touching her long hair. It appeared to be tied into a ponytail and it felt very fine, almost like a spider's silk. Her face had an intricate tattoo below her eye that looked completely foreign to him. Her clothing didn't appear to be made of any material on the planet and was extremely malleable, almost like water. It was long and blue, with a silver cage attached to her hip by a belt. She didn't have any shoes on and her feet appeared to be extremely calloused and dirty.

Nozel picked up a stick on the ground nearby, turning the girl on her side. 'What is this... girl?' He thought to himself, lifting her wings up cautiously with the stick, inspecting the damage to them. He carefully unfolded them to reveal a beautiful crystalline pattern, with swirls and complex lines. He asked his squad if they had any idea what this girl was and they all shrugged their shoulders, having no clue either.

He sighed, standing back up as he did so. He looked back towards his men who were standing there, staring nervously at the girl. After a moment of silence, Nozel finally spoke to his men.

"Right then, this creature is obviously the source of the mana that we had set out to investigate. You are not to speak of this with anyone except me. We are going to have to take her back to the capital, where Julius told us to report to."

Nozel ordered his men to help him lift her onto one of the horses that they had arrived on so they could begin heading back to the capital. Just as they were about to pick her up, the girl awakened...
