Nozel's Strange Encounter {Black Clover}

Chapter 1

footnotes: the mc isn't from the realm that the clover kingdom is in, she's from the same realm as the demons and doesn't know how to get back

{MC's POV}
'My head hurts so much... what... happened? I fell and... there was a man...'

I slowly opened my eyes, my vision blurry. I saw two men coming near me and my survival instincts kicked in. I jumped to my feet, wincing in pain and putting my hands in front of me. 'I need to hit them fast and hard...'

Quickly, I started flinging elemental spells at them, managing to get a few hits in. "Get away from me!" I shouted at the people advancing on me. My vision started clearing and I could see better, aiming my spells more properly. I starting raising my hands up, causing vines to shoot from the ground and start to wrap around the men advancing on me.

Before I could get enough damage in, the man with silver hair jumped in front of the men I was attacking. He had a concerned look on his face and was in a defensive position. He had his grimoire out and was ready to defend himself and his men. "Stop! Relax... We aren't here to hurt you..." The man said, putting his hands up to show that he wasn't a threat and placing his grimoire back in its satchel.

I lowered my arms, slowing down the vines I had slowly wrapping the men and constricting them. 'Maybe... he isn't a threat...' Hesitantly, I released the men from my tight grip.

"My name is Nozel Silva, I live in this kingdom and am a captain of a Magic Knight squad. Our Wizard King ordered me and my men to investigate this area. You must be the anamoly we were sent to find. Do you have a name? You don't appear to be from around here."

'Magic Knight squad...? What the hell even is that?' I thought to myself, still standing on the offensive and keeping my eyes on the strange man. "What is a Magic Knight squad? What is a Wizard King...? I don't know what you're even talking about..." I said to the man, apparently named Nozel, with a puzzled tone.

{Nozel's POV}
Nozel lowered his hands, realizing this girl clearly was feeling threatened and not a danger to him. 'She's definitely not from around here. I'm gonna need to be careful with what I say for now...' Nozel thought to himself, keeping an eye on her.

"Who left those wounds on you? Are you in danger?" Nozel asked, trying to be as gentle as possible. 'This girl appeared to be just a little kid... where are her parents?' Nozel attempted to move closer to the girl but when he did so, she backed off from him, raising her hands back up to protect herself.

"I-I don't know their names... Please... I need to get out of here..." The girl said to Nozel, having a fearful look in her eyes. She kept trying to back away before stopping a safe distance away from him.

Nozel spoke slowly after hearing her response. She was definitely scared of something or someone. "Okay... well can you tell me your name? We can help you but you need to tell us who you are." He started walking cautiously towards the girl, with his hands in front of him, trying to get close enough to grab her and calm her down.

"My... my name is Marigold... like the flower." The girl said quietly after staring at Nozel for a few moments. 'Like the flower, huh?' Nozel wondered to himself. He had managed to get close enough to the girl to grab her arms and he pulled her into him, holding her from releasing any more magic attacks on him and his men.

{MC's POV}
The man grabbed me and I wanted to fight him at first but he was holding me too tightly. I let him hold me while looking directly into his eyes and attempting to not look like I was scared out of my mind.

"I promise I'm not going to hurt you, please just tell us what's going on." The man said while holding my arms and lookimg directly into my eyes. 'Can I.. trust him?' I questioned to myself. 'I guess... it can't be worse than what the other men did...' After a moment of silence, I spoke up.

"I've been... taken... from my home by some strange men... I-I don't know how to get back and I managed to b-barely escape from them... before you... before you found me..." My voice was wavering and it was difficult to manage to form words. When the man responded, he didn't seem to have any anger in his voice when he spoke; it was almost as if he was trying to speak to me like a child.

"Can you tell me more about your home? Do you have parents? Siblings?"

Before I could answer, an object whizzed past Nozel, narrowly missing his face and hitting me directly in the chest. When the object hit me, it exploded into a thousand pieces of crystal with a large chunk of it inside of me. The whole world suddenly went black and I couldn't move anymore...
