"My day begins at 4 a.m. every morning because the bakery opens at 7. You think that the life of a baker is pretty routine, making the same pastries, rolls, cakes... but actually, it's different everyday", Tom explained to the class.
This particular day happened to be Parents' Career Day, where everyone's parents come to explain their special job or form of employment and what they do.
"One day someone might order a cake in the shape of the Eiffel Tower, and another day you might--"
Meanwhile outside the classroom, Adrien was trying numerous times to call his father, who simply didn't respond.
"You've reached the voicemail of Gabriel Agreste's office. Please leave a message", the automated voice said.
"Hi father, it's me. It's Parent's Career Day at school, remember?", the model said with the little hope remaining, disappearing. "I was hoping that you were gonna show up. Call me back." He ended the call.
"You okay?", Plagg asked him with concern.
"Yeah, whatever. Nothing new..." Just as he was about to go back into the classroom, Adrien heard sobs coming from underneath the staircase.
He went to see who was crying and saw Dalia, sitting on the ground crying with her head buried in her legs.
"Dali?", Adrien gasped causing her to jump. The ravenette turned to him, with her hazel eyes widening in shame and shock.
"Oh crap... Nobody's supposed to see me like this...", she muttered as she looked away from him and tried finding something to dry her tears.
"Are you alright?", Adrien asked her as he sat next to the teary eyed girl.
"It's just... it's my first parents' day without...them", Dalia uttered sadly as more tears came. "I only came because James forced me to, saying it's the only way to fight through it..."
"I'm so sorry Dali", he replied as he gave her a hug.
'I'm here wishing my father, who's alive would come while Dalia is wishing for hers to be alive...', Adrien thought, feeling bad for her.
"I can't go in there...I think I should just go home...", Dalia said as she struggled to get up in her crying state.
"Please don't leave...at least stay for me." He took her hands and looked into her hazel eyes. "My father isn't coming and I'll be alone..."
Adrien then wiped her tears away and kissed her forehead.
"I'll stay...but only for you, Agreste", the ravenette agreed. "Thanks Adrien...I really needed this hug."
After cleaning her makeup, the pair went upstairs and into the classroom while holding hands.
"Nino, just this once, could you switch places with Dalia?", Adrien asked his best friend.
"Um sure", Nino replied without complaint. He moved to the seat at the back and sat next to Jamie, who was confused.
"Why are you here and Lia over there?", Jamie asked the DJ.
"I don't know", he shrugged as he continued filming.
"Marinette will come around and pass out some croissants baked fresh this morning", Mr. Dupain said as his daughter came around and started placing croissants on the tables.
'Ew, is she literally putting those delicious croissants on the dirty tables?', Jamie thought as Marinette approached her desk.
"No thanks to the delicious croissant that was ruined by your horrible personality", the platinum blonde said putting her hand up in the bluenette's face. "I can get a better one from you know who."
