   THE CELEBRATION HAD begun

THE CELEBRATION HAD begun. Guests from all parts of the seven seas had arrived before sundown, dressed in extravagant attires, donning themselves in jewelries; gold, diamonds, emeralds and rubies, and colorful detailed masks placed over their faces to seal their identities away. The soft music played in the background by the orchestra, drowning the chatter among the crowd where each held a glass of wine in their hands.

Estelle peeked through the bushes, unlike the rest of the servants, she was dressed in an emerald green dress she borrowed from Vivien. The latter claimed it was a bit small for her and let the blonde have it, though unbeknownst to the girl, Vivien had already planned to give it to her as a birthday present. Telling her to wear it on a special occasion.

This was indeed a special occasion.

Especially, when she had a duty to fulfill.

She blew a strand of her curled blonde hair away from her face and neatly tucked it with a pin like the rest of her hair, styled in an intricate bun. Her eyes scanned through the guests to the orchestra, trying to pinpoint any suspicious activities.

   A surprise, Achlys said.

The whole day, she tried to figure out what the woman meant. Were they going to ambush the party? Or was someone else planning to crash the party? Was it a good or a bad surprise? It could mean anything. She noted how there were more guards stationed in every corner of the garden, two at the entrance and exit that led to the huge maze. Swords on their side with one hand readied at the hilt in case something disastrous happened.

Not only that, there was also the second task that was needed to be fulfilled. Find the hidden treasure. Though, she had no idea what it was, she'll just have to keep her eyes open for it.

Estelle continued to scan the whole room, until she saw her brother standing near the deserts table, leaning against a tree with his arms crossed and eyes glowering at the crowd. She sighed. How could one letter manage to change someone in a complete one-eighty?

She debated to just walk over to him, however that would blow her cover. If any of the servants found out that she left her other duty, they would send her back to the kitchen and then she couldn't keep an eye on the celebration.

Except this was her brother. He's always there for her in her lowest moments, and she should be doing the same for him. Estelle exhaled heavily, shaking the nerves from her system and walked out of her hiding spot.

But before she could make it across the garden, someone pulled her into the crowd. Her figure collided against her captor. Estelle rubbed her nose to soothe out the pain when her hand was intertwined with another. "Stay still and dance." They whispered demandingly.

It was the masculine voice that made her eyes wide. She looked up because of the height difference and suddenly froze when he was already looking at her. Where the golden gaze met the beholder of the forest green eyes. Quite similar to the shade of her dress, as if fate had written down this encounter and waited for centuries for it to happen.
