Aeons ago, before the existence of humanity was the time of the Gods. There were many Gods, however there were two in particular that had the most presence.
There was the God of Good, Light and all things living. This God was called Solveig and she was responsible for the later creation of humanity, well some of humanity, the good ones.
Then there was the God of Death, Darkness and all evil. This God went by the name of Bolverkr. He was a vengeful God who wanted nothing more than to destroy anything or anyone one that came before him. These two Gods were always destined to be mortal enemies and this was the reason for the start of the Great Soul War, the most devastating and long-lasting war in all of time.
It was a war that lasted all of eternity, a constant battle between good and evil.
The two Gods had very different opinions of what the eventual world should be and, in whose image, it should be in. Solveig believed that all humanity should be inherently good and there should be no evil, no crime, no murder, just living out your days happy and in love until the day you are returned, to stand by her side with honour and protect all others that continue to live in your absence. The people should not fear death but should embrace it and rejoice at the possibility to stand along side the great and ever-loving God Solveig.
Bolverkr on the other hand did not agree with this in the slightest and believed that all humanity should not only be given the choice to do what they wanted but this should include the choice to commit crime, murder and be pure evil if they so wish. Living a truly evil and demonic life would allow you to stand by the side of the God of Death and fight for his side in this never-ending war.
At the start of this war an agreement was made between the Gods that neither of them was permitted to influence or falsely claim souls, they must appear to them of their own accord.
Centuries had passed and the war continued to rage on with no clear side winning, each being joined by the souls of the worlds and each battling for their side to win.
Bolverkr had decided after battling for so long that he needed the upper hand, he needed a way to win this war. Being deceitful was part of his nature and something that came easy to him. Not wanting to break the rules explicitly, as had been previously agreed if either was to directly intervene the other would win and they would forfeit their rights, it was time to get creative.
Bolverkr sought after a particular soul, one that he had become close to over the years, her name was Nailah.
She was once a ruler on a planet called Radacorria, back when the planet was first created by the Gods. She was a dictator and was not afraid to kill anyone who got in her way or anyone that tried to stand between her and total rule of the planet.
Eventually she met her end when her own son raised an army against her and drove a spear threw her chest, killing her and sending her soul to the God of Death.
Nailah had arrived by his side,
"How can I help you my Lord of Darkness?" she asked
"There is something I need you to do for me, something that will raise you up in the ranks of Hell itself so that you can become a real leader here" he said to her
"What is it master? How can I be of service?" she said
"I need you to bare me a child. This child will be the key to us winning the Great Soul War" he added
"I would be honoured, my lord of pain and suffering" she said smiling from ear to ear
