The next morning, Melina was in bed facetiming Kali. She gave her a rundown of how the first day of the music video went. Kali hadn't heard from Paloma yet. She knocked out immediately when going home.
"Pobresita," Kali sighed, bringing her coffee to her lips. "She must be exhausted."
Melina fell quiet as her eyes drifted away from her phone. The sun slipped in from the window blinds.
"...Hey, Kali, you were friends with Gabriela, right?"
Kali's eyes darted to the screen as the coffee stopped short of her lips. She pulled it away. "We're talking about Berlingeri, I'm guessing?"
"Yeah, what even happened?"
"Girl, being her friend was annoying. She's obsessed with Benito in a horrible way. She talked about him nonstop when we were together and flaked on me all the time to see him. You can only be friends with someone like that for so long."
"It does sound annoying."
Kali raised a brow. "Why? Are you thinking of dating him?"
"No."
"Thank God," She sighed, bringing her coffee back to her lips. "Gabriela is fucking crazy."
Their call ended. Kali had to go back to work and blew a kiss as she said goodbye.
Two hours later as Melina was enjoying her day off with a facemask and movies, Francesca bombarded her with dozens of text messages. Her phone blew up with all the notifications.
