It was a chilly October night, chillier than average for that time of the year. Harlow and I were on one of our monthly catch-ups, we agreed to always stay in touch and meet regularly. Seeing as I couldn't drive at the time, Haz agreed he'd drive up to Idaho and meet me at a local bar in Boise, Pengilly's Saloon.
It's quite a long trip from California, so usually Harlow would stay at my apartment for a couple of nights or so, so we could really make the most of our time together. One of my friends who was staying with me at the time had quite a thing for my brother, I'm not in touch with her anymore but her name was Hannah, she was always trying to get Harlow's attention but he just shook it off, him and Isobel were quite serious about each other and my brother was never the type of guy to sleep around.
I remember this particular visit of Harlow's because I was walking to the bar on my own, on this occasion Harlow wasn't going to be staying at my apartment; he was going upstate to Montana after he'd met me, he had some business he needed to take care of there for work so he fit me in for a quick visit, which was nice.
On my way to the bar, I was taking quite a brisk walk seeing as I was a little late and I didn't want to leave my brother waiting for a terribly long time as he had stuff he needed to get on with. I noticed a man I'd never seen before in Boise; he caught my eye because he had a strange look about him - he was a tall man, 5'11 maybe even 6'0, he was very slender almost lanky... our eyes met, he waved to me but he gave me the creeps, something about him just wasn't right. I just carried on walking to the bar (quicker this time).
I shook off the encounter with the strange man however little did I know at the time, but that was my first encounter with Lyle Nascimento.
