Percy shook my hand and I could tell Annabeth was getting pretty jealous next to me. I dropped his hand and causally threw my arm over her shoulder.
" Don't worry Annabeth, I already have a boyfriend, and he's way hotter than Percy over here" I said smiling at Percy's reaction. I guess 7 years with Keefe made me snarky.
" You know, I'm right here, right?" Percy asked
" Yeah so? " I replied, grinning
" I-well-you- Annabeth can we talk?" he said crossing his arms and trying to look mad. He glared at me before pulling Annabeth to the side. They started whispering like crazy and Annabeth looked at me twice. I wonder what they're talking about. Percy and Annabeth came back looking worried.
" Sophie, why did you move to New York?" Annabeth asked, looking curious. Oh, I did not think this through.
" uh-I-Um- I was uh expelled"
" Expelled?"
" yeah expelled from my old school" Annabeth and Percy looked at each other and grinned. What? Why were they grinning?
" Uh, why do you look so happy?" I asked looking at them. Annabeth glared at Percy and said that we had to go to class and dragged Percy and me to Math.
Annabeth and Percy sat at the front of the class and before I could go to the back of the course the teacher, Mr.Clofe introduced me to the class.
" Children, This is Miss Sophie Foster, who is joining our school today, please treat her with respect ok?". I winked and almost all the boys had little hearts in their eyes and most girls were planning on how to kill me. After defeating the Neverseen, I was chosen as a lead Emissary and I, now have people skills. Yay me.
I sat down in the back of the class and popped in my Airpods and started thinking about things I had to do when I got home. And that was a lot of things. That's when I felt someone tap my shoulder. I took out one of my earbuds and looked at them.
" Mr.Clofe called you upfront "
I took one look at the board and answered the question.
" Oh that's 40.9023226724 " I replied. Gosh, what was this, kindergarten math? 24 pair of eyes looked at me. Even Mr.Clofe had to bring out a calculator to solve that problem.BRING!!! Yes, I was saved by the bell. I quickly rushed to my locker where Annabeth and Percy were waiting for me.
" How did you solve that problem so quickly?" Annabeth asked her hand in Percy's
" Photographic Memory" I replied trying to open my locker. I miss Foxfire lockers. Annabeth and Percy shared a look. They seemed to be communicating. They must know each other well.
" I have to go the restroom, Percy will show you to your next class," Annabeth called already walking towards the restroom.
"Want some help with that?" Percy asked leaning against some lockers. I rolled my eyes and stepped aside to let him open it. It was a passing period and the hallways were crowded with people. I never felt good crowds, even after the Neverseen. There are too many voices and the walls start closing in. Oh, shoot, Not another one. My heart starts pounding and my mouth suddenly feels dry.
" Hey, you ok?" Percy asked, his voice feeling very far away. Keefe's always near when this happens. I start feeling dizzy and I couldn't answer his question. I leaned forward, my breaths are getting shorter. Percy closed the locker and he looked really worried.
"Sophie? Sophie, can you hear me?" Percy asked worried. I can't, I feel as if I'm having a heart attack. " K-Keefe" I managed to get out, my vision darkening. Flashbacks run through my head, and I felt Percy lift me. When did I fall? And then I blacked out.
