Nearing the Black Tourmaline Street, the man that signalled to Atomu and Elton took a turn, using his hands to instruct instead of answering their burning questions. He shushed them, then climbed into an open hole in the middle of the formation of rocks near an isolated street of Soban.
Elton climbed, and Atomu had trouble squeezing through but with the help of the other Paladian, they both made it in.
The mysterious Mirillian shut the blinds near a hole that served as the window and lit up three candles, placing them around the corners, dimly lighting up the room.
The sounds of the street and Mirillians talking outside were greatly muffled, and the two sat on a carpet-like material.
"Welcome, my curious travellers! To the home of the demon!" he informed, putting on a devious grin.
"The home of the demon?!" Elton asked out. "Atomu, get your weapon ready!"
"Gh!" Atomu put his hand on the end of Knrhum's Blade.
"No! Not like that. Oh, man." he sighed. "I think that I, Tenor, may have an answer to yer great questions, mantoe!" he raised his voice, fixing some of the hair that unfortunately fell on his face.
The mentioned Paladians glanced at each other unsurely, then back at Tenor.
"S-So, then. Tell us." Atomu quickly added, already quite impatient.
"Mwahahahah!" Tenor ran off into the other room, disappearing in the shadows.
Elton put his awkward hands on his lap and trembled a little, unsure what to expect, while Atomu seemed simultaneously disappointed and annoyed.
A minute passed, and the man didn't return, Elton eventually stood up, waddling over to the low-hanging doorframe.
"Hello?" he asked, raising an eyebrow, and ducking down.
"Bwah!" Tenor yelled, and Elton fell to the ground, pushed away by the scare.
"HE'S A DEMON!" he pointed.
"No, not a demon!" Tenor took off the purple mask with a deformed face and long horns. "But this was a demon." he smiled, nodding repeatedly.
Atomu gulped, loudly, calmly looking at Tenor, while Elton slid on the floor towards him.
"Oh, pst." Tenor shook his head, and kicked the mask on the floor, towards the two Paladians. Elton yelled out again, holding Atomu's arm, and he gave him a strange look. "Look at it! Don't you see it?"
Atomu inched closer, putting his hand on the mask, feeling dry and sharp flesh. "Awgh..." he put his hand behind him. "Where d-did you get this? Did you kill it?"
Tenor immediately shook his head. "No, I'm no Demonear!" he announced, leaning against a wall. "But I found its dead body and sliced its head off, right here!" he pointed, excitedly. "Isn't that neat, eh?" he raised his eyebrows, moving closer towards Atomu's face.
Elton trembled a little, turning to Tenor. "No, it isn't."
"Why?" Tenor asked.
"It's strange! Creepy!"
"I'm sorry, who are you?" Atomu asked, looking at Tenor, and the Mirillian seemed to take offence to his words.
"Pff, well, obviously no one." he folded his arms and gritted his teeth. "Only the most prosperous and curious researcher in all of Soban! Huh! How about that!" he pointed, touching Atomu's forehead, and the Paladian quickly slapped his hand.
"T-That doesn't seem too promising," Atomu muttered.
"Hwww!" Tenor made a strange noise, backing into the shadows, pushing on his own heart. Elton's gaze tried following his movements but quickly grew confused and rather weary. Finally giving up, he glanced back at Atomu who started deeply analyzing the demon's head that lay in the front.
