Charlotte POV

Marvin drives me back to my so-called house to let me grab my things. I pack one suitcase with clothes which only includes a few pairs of leggings, jeans, and shorts. I also pack my tank tops and shirts. I don't have much but it is still a good amount that when I go to school I don't have to wear the same thing over and over that someone would notice. I also pack my jewelry, bras and stuff, and toiletries. In my backpack, I put my elephant stuffed animal. I know it's childish to still have a stuffed animal at 16, but I love her. I pack the electronics and chargers too. I then go into my mom's room and closet and take her perfumes and jewelry box and the stuff inside she would wear each day. I was always too scared to touch it, but I can't leave it here. I grab my second suitcase, the bigger one, which is technically my mom's, In there I put my weapons I have like knives and guns. I'm definitely gonna check it so I don't have to worry about security.

I run back downstairs and meet Marvin outside. My brothers got me the first flight they can back to America and it leaves in two hours so we have to go now. The car ride to the airport is a comfortable silence. I still don't understand why my brothers never found me or what strings the oldest pulled to get me out of juvie. It can't be that hard right?

"You know besides all the trouble you caused I'm gonna miss you, kid," Marvin breaks the silence. This shocked me it is so sweet.

"Thanks," I reply. I'm gonna miss him too, but he doesn't need to know.

"I know you'll miss me," Marvin voices my thoughts. After a few more minutes we pull up to the airport.

"Shouldn't I have a social worker with me?" I ask.

"You want one," Marvin replies surprised.

"No, but shouldn't I?" I say.

"Harvey decided you would be happier with me taking you to your gate and I could make sure you get on the plane," Marvin says whispering the second part. I chuckle to myself. We checked one of my bags. We all know which one. After the long line at security, we arrived at my gate. The plane would begin boarding in 30 minutes.

Marvin and I get some food while we wait. I am in group B which is surprising considering we booked this morning. It is finally time to say bye.

"Bye," Marvin says waving.

"Bye," I say before hugging him. I don't hug people so this shocks both of us. "I'll miss you," I whisper. Marvin hugs back and smiles.

"Please try to be on good behavior," he says. I start laughing. We both know that won't happen. I wave my last goodbye before walking to the line. When I go to scan my ticket the lady tells me I am in the wrong group.

"No, It says B see," I show her. She looks back at me and turns the ticket around and points to the bottom where it says 'first class.' I am shocked. "I didn't see that sorry," I say.

"Yeah clearly," she mumbles. I want to hit her so badly, but I turn and see Marvin giving me a warning look. I walk onto the plane and find my seat.

First class is where it's at. I have a bed that I didn't use because I didn't sleep, but I did order food. The flight is nice for the first 4 hours. After a few movies and food, I look at the flight tracker to see I still have 6 hours left. I'm so bored what do you do for six hours on a flight? I decide to watch more movies, but my body needs to move so I begin to walk to and from the bathroom. The pilot interrupts my lap.

"We are making our final descent into South Carolina. It is 2:30 PM and 65 degrees out. Please put your seatbelt on and your chair in the full upright position," he says. I go back and put my seat belt on. I'm so excited to get off the plane. The flight attendants do their final rounds and make sure everything is ready for landing. Five minutes later I can feel the plane dropping so I open the window to watch. I love landing and taking off it's like an amusement park ride.

I am finally off the plane and I just got my bag from the baggage claim. That's when I realize I have no fucking idea what my brothers look like. I sit on one of the chairs and decide to wait. I wait and wait. I mean they do know I am coming right? Five minutes becomes ten then twenty becomes forty. An hour later my phone vibrates from a message. It is an unknown number.

One of your brothers is on their way. Were so excited to see you, Sorella.

That's bullshit if you ask me. If they were excited to see me they would've been here when I landed. Also who texts like that it's so formal. My phone vibrates again. I roll my eyes before looking at it.

We wanted to be there when you landed but had an emergency at work.

That is weird it's like he read my thoughts, yet he's nowhere near. I again sit in my chair and wait and wait. If no one comes in five minutes I'm gonna Uber I told myself.

Four minutes later I stood up getting my bags ready. When the five minutes pass I pull up my Uber app but get a text.

I'm outside waiting. Hurry.

Patient much? I walk outside and see a bunch of cars. Great which one? I stand there looking around probably like an idiot. Till a nice black Range Rover drives up in front of me. I'm not much into cars, but this one is really cool. The window is rolled down revealing a guy who looks in his 20s. Wait am I about to get kidnapped? No parent or adult just a kid.

"Charlotte?!" He questions loudly. Shit, he knows my name. What to do. "Can you hear me?" He asks. Think. Ok um, either I run, respond, or pretend not to understand.  I can't pretend because I understood his texts. "Don't think about running and please get in the car," he says.

"How'd you know I was gonna run?" I ask. He just shrugs. That annoys me a lot, but I have to keep my cool. He gets out of the car and helps put my bags in the trunk, and we are soon off. Hello, new life I guess.
