It was around dinner time when the front door opened. Wes, Sophie, and I were all in the room. Sophie and I laying on the couch. Wes on a chair. We all looked over. His eyes looked all red and he forced a smile.

"Hey! You must be Wes." He got up and smiled.

"Yeah! And you must be Kurt." I chuckled and nodded.

"Great finally meeting you. Heard a lot about you." I said, sticking my hand out.

"Same!" He said, shaking my hand.

"I'll be back." I said, walking into the kitchen. I walked to the sink, resting my hands on the edge of it and closing my eyes. A second later, I felt a hand on my back.

"I don't care if you want me here or not. Somethings wrong." I opened my eyes again and looked at him. "Come here." He grabbed a hand and pulled me to him, wrapping his arms around me. I wrapped mine around him too.

"Babe. I'm really, really sorry."

"I know. It's okay. You didn't mean to yell."

"I think I just need to head to bed early. I feel really bad because Wes just got here. I'm just— I can't."

"Hey." He backed up, putting his hands on my face. "Don't worry about it. Do whatever you need. Wes will understand. He'll be here a whole week so don't stress about it." I nodded.

"You got Sophie?"

"Yes. Go."

"Okay." I started tearing up so ran upstairs.

Blaine's POV

I headed back to the living room to update Wes about Kurt. He definitely saw him rush upstairs since the stairs are in the living room but I doubt Kurt stopped to explain. He hates crying in front of other people.

"He's heading to bed. Told me to say he's sorry."

"Tell him it's no problem when you see him. It's kinda late anyways." I nodded.

Wes and I talked for a while. We hadn't seen each other since around when Kurt and I met. Over a year. I put Sophie to bed at 8, her bedtime. Wes went upstairs around the same time. He wanted to shower from the plane and settle in. I headed to the bedroom. Kurt was staring at a wall, the covers pulled up to his chin. I walked over and laid behind him, wrapping my arms around him.

"What if she remembers her mom and dad disappearing? What if she thinks we're leaving her too? Or what if something happens to me and she's with someone she doesn't even know?"

"Listen. Life is unpredictable. You kind of just have to do what is best for everyone and see what happens. I don't think being scared of what might happen is the best? Not going into work when no one can watch Sophie because you're scared of what might happen. She might be a little upset at first but she'll get used to the babysitter. All kids hate their parents leaving at first but it's part of life."

"I know."

"Your dad needs to work too. He can't constantly watch Sophie because you need someone you know to watch her."

"Is that what you guys were talking about when I walked in?"

"Yeah." He sighed and turned in my arms to face me.

"I'll start looking tomorrow."

"Okay."

"I love you."

"Love you too." I said, giving him a kiss.
