Feels So Right When I Let You Pt. 2

Jeanne had originally let him guide her, but they quickly realized that Vanitas had no idea where they were heading. Since she was the citizen of Altus, avoiding areas where they could be easily spotted was easy, so she naturally took control of the situation.

She carried Vanitas around, jumping through rooftops to speed their trip and avoid crowds until they were far enough from their original position, and eventually they found the ideal location, a Hotel next to a canal similar to the Saint-Martin in human's Paris. The Altus counterpart of the Parisian building was a 5-star, fancy-looking and well-adorned edifice.

Vanitas was skeptical, expecting a couple hours in a place like that to cost a small fortune. However, Jeanne explained to him that vampires cared a lot more for the esthétique of love Hotels than humans, because their libido was significantly higher.

'Umm... you see. Most vampires spend their days and approximately half their lives having intercourse.'

As they stood in the lobby right after her explanation — holding hands to pretend they were lovers — their faces were so red that they almost resembled a couple of ladybugs.

Upon stepping into the suite, they were greeted by a huge Victorian acorn canopy bed, adorned with royal red curtains that hung as high as the ceiling; two bottles of wine rested on top of the extra-large pillows, and a pair of black crystal glasses and bottle opener sat on the side table near the entrance — right where the two of them stood.

Following their passage through the foyer, they removed their shoes and laid them on the area rug to seek relief from the oppressive heat.

The room was mostly decorated in red colors. Predictable, since they were in Altus. Heavy window curtains blocked any natural light that attempted to sneak into the room.

Fortunately, the temperature itself was much cooler than outside, and probably for the said reason. The wallpaper choice was a deep taupe color with golden Amberley designs of floral-pattern damasks. A door on the opposite side, he guessed, led them to the washroom. The soft glow of candlelight scattered throughout the room created a romantic and intimate atmosphere. Adorning the surrounds of the bed were mirrored walls from top to bottom, which extended all the way down to the white baseboards.

Really appropriate for perverts who enjoy voyeurism and mirror sex. Definitely something vampires would be into. Vanitas thought.

Though, the man admitted to being curious about seeing not just one, but two naked Jeannes in front of him.

Finally, to his despair, a gigantic hot tub that seemed to fit at least four people inside was located right in the center of the room — lavender-scented steam still coming out of it — meshing with the room's atmosphere.

"So, Jeanne. This is for... groups of people, huh?" He swiftly pointed at the ominous object in the middle of the room.

Vanitas had to pick on Jeanne to ease his own tension, terrified of the notion that this was the only layout available for all the rooms in that Hotel. The atmosphere was certainly not conducive to monogamous relationships, especially not with an ordinary human like him.

"I don't know Vanitas. I've never been here before either." Jeanne turned her face away, embarrassed and irritated by his teasing. No effort at all to conceal her displeasure.

"Oh? But what about that talk of 'lifespan being used for sex'?" And the more he teased her, the brighter his smile grew with devilish satisfaction.

She rubbed her forehead, regretting the moment she'd decided to tell him anything she knew.

"I don't know, ok? I said the majority, not all, and even that is something I have heard from others. My body has always been used to protect citizens so they can have fun instead of myself, which I'm grateful for."
