Nyx found herself pulled to the green just outside of Ophelia Hall, where there was a small group of her dorm mates waiting. A wooden boat rest upon stands in the middle of the green and Nyx had to smile at the group of which had gathered. She personally wasn't partaking in the race this time around, she had placed it on her list of things to do next year. But that didn't mean she wouldn't help her dorms team out. Especially when her roommate was on the team. And Nyx really liked Yoko, hoping that she had found herself a friend for life like she thought she had. Enid, who Nyx still thought was a little bit much, but she had come to like just as much as tolerate was the captain for the team. Having taken to the role like a wolf on the hunt. Greeting the two roommates Enid was quick to shove a small tin of paint into Nyx's hand, a black tin and Yoko was fortunate to be given a tin of white.

"Remember ladies we are going for a scary looking cat. Make our enemies shiver in fear." Enid's preppy voice was a slight difference to her tone otherwise. It was not as confusing anymore then when it had first happened and Nyx was starting to like seeing this side to the girl. Only hoping her sister was also seeing just how great her roommate was. But then again Wednesday never did seem to be able to look at the bigger picture. So that was probably why.

"Aye captain." Nyx agreed before heading in the direction of the boat. Of which she would later be recorrected to a canoe. An honest mistake considering her lack of love for large bodies of water. She could tolerate them from the sidelines just not the inside, upon or below. She could thank her uncle Fester for that fear. She would never get the image of him trying to baptise her from her mind.

As music played in the background curtesy of Ms. Thornhill's speaker, Nyx could understand why her mother spoke so fondly of the school activities. This was fun, she was enjoying herself. And she knew that when the race actually occurred she would enjoy it more. Especially considering the fact that there were no rules. Something she was pretty excited about. And as the group around her began to have more fun, paint was making it to anywhere but the canoe. When a large splash of red plastered itself upon her cheek Nyx turned to Yoko in question.

"Yoko." Her voice came across dangerous for a reason, as she held up her own brush in response.

"Just giving you a splash of colour. Call it pop art."

"How dare you I wear colour." Nyx protested knowing it was the complete opposite, she liked how she looked in darker colours. It was after all the Addams way of living. Her mother would be disappointed otherwise.

"Grey is not a colour, its a shade." Yoko argued back. Ready to see what the psychic had planned.

"I'll show you shade." At this point the two roommates had given up actually trying to get anything done as they broke out in a full paint fight. Laughter could be heard across the court as the two chased one another around with the paint brushes. Nyx determined to get Yoko back and the other girl determined to not get covered in paint.

"Ladies cut it out, come on! We need to work on those teeth. More Scowl. This kitty is taking no prisoners." Enid's words soon broke up the procrastination of Nyx as she turned back to look at their group leader. Noting just how well Enid would lead a pack, if the girl could ever shift that was. "If Bianca Barclay wins again this year, I will literally scratch my own eyes out." Enid was of course as dramatic as ever and Nyx rolled her eyes before turning her attention to another new figure to the group.

The smaller stature could only be her sister, nobody else at the school could pull of being as short as Wednesday and Nyx pondered where the other girl came from. Choosing to ignore it considering Wednesday was still keeping things from her, Nyx returned her attention to the boat allowing the two to talk about whatever it was that they were going to talk about. She assumed it was more likely going to be about the rivalry Wednesday had forming with Bianca for the position of Regina George of the school. Something she knew Wednesday would eventually lose, she didn't have the social skills to take on such a pivotal role in the school's social scene. Plus Wednesday would be doing the complete opposite of what she spoke about to their parents by doing so. And there was one thing the girl loved more than beheading barbie dolls, that was proving their parents wrong.

And as Nyx refocused upon the teeth she felt herself suddenly become calm. Her powers started to act out upon their own accord and she found her attention completely gone from he canoe. Her eyes wandered the surrounding area as she could see the whispers of her favourite colour begin to enter her view.

"Nyx are you alright?" The voice of Yoko would reach her ears but Nyx was too focused upon the colour she could finally see again. The colour she had been so worried about hours earlier was back and he found herself no longer worrying about what it meant to her. She stood leaving her place beside the canoe venturing in the direction she knew the colour was stemming from.

It was about 300 yards away from where she had previously been when she came across the figure associated with her royal blue. And as they locked eyes she noted that the colour was present in his own iris' a new discovery she would think less upon.

"Hey Nixie." Xavier's voice was enough to bring a smile to her face.

"Are you spying on us Xavier?" She bounced back as she noted the colour ebbing out much further now that they were closer.

"Me a cheater? Never." Xavier faked offence at her words.

"Sure sure, I don't know why you're trying so hard. We're all going to lose to the scales." Nyx shrugged she had belief in her team, well partially. She knew that unless they did something dramatic Bianca's team would win. She had heard the tales of what they had done the last year and knew they would be trying to one up themselves so nobody else knew what was coming. It would have been what she would have done anyways.

"I suppose you are right."

"I always am." Nyx gave another shrug as she ignored the butterflies she felt as they continued to hold eye contact with one another. If he noticed the change in her eye colour, he said nothing about it. Glad this was the case but also confused at the same time Nyx scratched her brain for something to say to him. Not wanting an awkward silence to envelop over them. Until she hit bingo, he had brought up Rowan to her once, she would do it this.

"Are you alright? You know with the whole Rowan thing." Nyx tried to not make it out like she was excited to hear his response, considering it would be very different from a spot of concern like she was supposed to be feeling with that question anyways.

"It's weird, all very strange. Something is telling me to believe you when you said there was something really wrong. But it's all very confusing. He wasn't acting like himself earlier. I know telekinesis can do scary things but even then this was too much of a change." Xavier's words tailed off at the end and Nyx wished she had a little more confidence so that she could provide him with some more comfort. But in that moment she didn't and therefore gave him a small grimace.

"I don't know if there's anything I can say to make things better. If it's better for you to ignore what I said until your brain can make sense of everything else do so." Nyx knew her take on everything was probably confusing.

"No, I need your input. You saw Rowan had things changed for you too?"

"That wasn't the same Rowan that was in the woods or the fencing class." Nyx left it there not wanting to get into her colour theory right now, that wouldn't be useful for him.

"Okay."

"Okay Xavier." And she blushed knowing that they were starting to take after one of the cringiest books she had ever read. She was sure John Green was loving this.
