Chapter XXX

"We should be live in 3.... 2.... 1..."

Juru stepped closer to the microphone.

"Citizens of Möbiusde Demokratik Regno. We are experiencing a terrible time at the moment. There is no denying those beasts are horrendous. They strike fear everywhere, they take everything away we care and love, they are the very definition of chaos.

They made us go through all of this. They destroyed homes and families.

I, myself, experienced it on my own. When my partner got possessed by one of those plants... I... couldn't do anything. In fact, I had to retreat...

... But... That didn't stop me from saving her. Alone, we're no match for them. Alone, we're just a mere plaything for them. But together, together we can defeat them! They're not invincible, that lady wants us to believe it's impossible to win. The only reason she made this announcement was to get the upper hand. She's playing around with us for her own goals... 

We are way better than that. 

We won't just let some random plants take our home away!

We survived everything up until now, why should she ruin everything we have?!

... But for that... We need to work together. The tall and small ones, red squirrels and grey squirrels, kiwi and pineapple... We all have to stick our heads together and get our old life back!"

"And I know how it feels like to be scared..."

Now, it was Jaku stepping to the front...

"I'm sure I wasn't the only one getting possessed by one of them. I felt scared, alone, abandoned. All feelings I have never experienced before. I just wanted to leave, but I couldn't. That's how cruel they are. They use our deepest fears, our reflexion in the mirrors, against us. 

.... But what I learnt... The reflexions we see, they aren't evil. We're afraid of them because they're so unknown to us. We're afraid of them because we don't know how to react to them. 

But they aren't evil!

They're just like us. When a friend of mine and I got possessed, we were going through our worst fears at the moment. 

But instead of cowering in a corner and let them control us, we broke free. We learnt to accept whatever the mirror is showing us. In the end, no matter how much it hurts to know the truth, it can make you stronger.

 It can help you if you just let it. 

We saw mirrors as evil, as something you should never get close to, yet, despite all that, we still decided to keep them. Mirrors are great! They are our true companions in these times... and we have to do whatever we can to protect them. They shielded us from whatever evil was out there, it is time that we return the favour!

Members of A. S. S. and T. I. T. S., heck, everyone! Juru and I aren't talking as leaders of two strong squads to you, we are talking as normal citizens to you. We all want our old lives back. We all want to live like we used to live like. 

But this time.

This time we will appreciate the mirrors more. They have kept us safe from those plants, they have done this for us!"

"We're planning on infiltrating the Butterfly Igloo, but we're not strong enough alone. We need everyone's help to win this fight. It doesn't even matter if you're not good with fighting, everyone is good at something! We always need someone taking care of the wounded ones, we always need someone encouraging us to fight on, we always need someone for something.

Everyone can do something! Everyone plays a huge role in this now."

Jaku and Juru then pushed me in front of the camera.

"We need to get this fellow here into the igloo as far as possible. Why? She's our ace. She's our hope. She's immune to whatever those plants might do to her! She'll defeat Kirai and bring back the peace. But it's only possible if we do this together!"

"So grab whatever you have, no matter what your talents are, everyone is appreciated! We'll turn the tables, we'll show her what we can do!"

That was the end of the broadcast. Welcome back to the present, folks. That was one huge flashback, man...

Now everyone in the city knows my face, I hate that... But I can't worry about it now. We have a short time to celebrate that successful speech and immediately get back to the actual thing.

... Also, Jaku hasn't said 'nya' once the entire time now thinking about it... 

I think... She's the only cat I somewhat like.

Only somewhat.

A little.

But I respect her now.
