You ran off to the servant's quarters, but not before turning around and flashing the almost naked boy a smile.
You were finally going to go to sea.
Now that you were in the kitchen, you knew that the exit was not far off. The only obstacle now, was to make sure none of the servants recognized you. Keeping your head low, you tucked your shirt a little higher and started walking faster.
You felt more freedom with each step you walked. Finally the exit was inches away and you hesitantly stepped out.
You were hit by the cool fresh air, and you felt the urge to become a little girl again and spread your arms out and be delighted in everything. Then, you ran. You ran towards the ocean, towards the sand, towards freedom. You were no longer trapped, you were free.
You were free.
It was so different being free. It was so different not having to listen to father every single second. It was so different not wearing the tight dresses and sitting next to stuffy old suitors. And you enjoyed every single second of it.
Finally remembering what you had come out for, you looked for the ship. When you didn't find it immediately, the weight of disappointment dropped on you like a rock.
Suddenly, a hat flew toward you. You grabbed it and examined it closely. It was... a pirate hat?
"Hey!" someone yelled at you. You glanced around. It was a young man with blond hair and blue eyes. You were intrigued by one strand of hair that seemed to stand up by itself.
"Thanks for catching my hat," the man said.
"No problem," you said.
"My name's Alfred, also known as the hero," the blond introduced.
"Oh, my name's (fake name), nice to meet you, Alfred," you replied with the most boy-like voice you could muster. You were already liking the eccentric blond. Wondering about the why he called himself hero, you scrunched your eyebrows together, and apparently he noticed.
"Hero's my nickname on the ship," he answered, smiling.
Ship? Oh wait... pirate hat... ship.
"Y-your a pirate?" you asked, forgetting to talk in a boyish voice. Alfred nodded.
"Yeah, but I'd rather be called hero," he said. The pirates were still here, the ship was still here, you still had a chance!
"Ok, um, nice to meet you Alfred, oh, where is your ship?" you asked, a plan formulating in your mind. The oblivious pirate pointed to the other side of the seaside where a giant crag was.
"Thanks!" you yelled before running away. This was perfect. The ship was still here!
Finally... you were finally going to be free.
OMG. I struggled with this chapter. T.T I wasn't quite sure how I wanted reader-chan to get on the ship... and yeah. UGH. Next chapter will be better hopefully
