MARCH 24th, 1982.
📍: LONDON, ENGLAND

AURORA FELLOWES HAD JUST STEPPED OFF THE PLANE that had arrived at Heathrow airport in London, England from her former home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The air was immediately different, it was dim, and dull. The sky was grey, and any hint of sunshine was nowhere to be found, which was unusual for her. Her father followed closely behind her, as she wasn't old enough to fly on her own, so her father had to accompany her, before leaving again, to go back to Philadelphia. She had said goodbye to her mother before she left, with the woman promising her that she'd have a great time in London living with her aunt, Louise and her uncle, Eric, who was her father's younger brother.

He had married Louise, after meeting her when he got accepted into Oxford university, which the two had the same degree. The two spent a lot of time together, which led to the two of them falling in love, and eventually buying their first flat together, beginning to date in 1968, and marrying in 1974. The couple were two of the nicest people you could ever meet, and would've been great parents. About two years ago, six years after they first got married in Philadelphia, Louise found out she was unable to have children. This made the two heartbroken, they had though about adopting, but haven't really had the chance. So when Aurora's parents asked if she could stay with the two of them, for a change in environment, but also with the chance of a better life, they jumped at the opportunity.

Aurora and her father, walked through the gate, where their plane had landed, towards the place where they were to get their luggage. Her father had very limited luggage, because he was only going to be here for less than 4 hours, whilst Aurora had a few suitcases full of her life from Philadelphia. Things that she didn't really have to bring, but insisted she did. Her father, had promised the brunette that her aunt and uncle would be waiting for them in the next area, after they received their luggage. The two had to wait about ten minutes for their luggage to come through, her father had a backpack on his back and Aurora was trailing one of her suitcases behind her, whilst her dad had the other two in his spare hands.

The airport was packed. The girl, who was only about 5'4, had to stand her tiptoes to try and find her aunt and uncle anywhere in sight. Her father had the same problem, even though he was much taller than his seventeen year old daughter, who was due to turn eighteen next month.

"Rory, Thomas, over here!" A voice filled their ears, even throughout all the airport chatter. It was closer than they thought, the father and daughter turned their head, and were met with Eric and Louise, who had their arms open.

A smile tugged at Aurora's lips, and she jumped into her aunt and uncle's arms, which wrapped around her. She hadn't seen them in a bout two years, since they last visited the Philadelphia, for Christmas. But they couldn't come last year, as Louise had lost her mother over the festive period, and Eric stayed and comforted her.

"Hi, auntie!" The girl wrapped her arms around the two, and her voice was muffled, as her aunt and uncle's arms remained wrapped around her. Her father's heart warmed at the sight. He knew it would be difficult to leave her, but he also knew that it was the best thing for her.

They released their niece, and she returned to standing next to her father, "Are we ready to go?" Her uncle asked, as he took one of the suitcases off Aurora, that she was holding in her left hand, leaving Aurora with the one in her right hand.

The three others smiled at him, and then nodded, as the four began to make their way to their car. The process of trying to load the three suitcases into the trunk of their car, was stressful. Their car wasn't small, but exactly wasn't a big car either. Luckily her father's small backpack, could remain on his lap, as they drove to her brand new home.
