I open my eyes to see bright lights. Shining into my eyes, i snapped my eyelids shut once again. Everywhere on my body hurt.
"...She's awake..."
"Quiet...."
"Back up... give her space..."
I open my eyes once again, this time not blinding myself. Instead, i saw the blue eyes of a white-haired girl.
"Hi!" she chirped "Feeling better?"
I open my mouth, forming words in my parched throat. "Where...?"
Another girl looked down at me. She looked slightly older, and her eyes were filled with uncertainty and sorrow, as if she was remembering something.
"Your onboard the ship Hyperion. We rescued you from the middle of a minor honkai eruption. Whats your name?"
Hyperion? Honkai? Am i now in a fantasy world?
"Um... My name is (y/n)." I cough.
The silver-haired girl from earlier came back into view, only to be tugged away again.
"Let Fu Hua deal with it, Kiana." a childish voice reprimanded.
"But- Auntie Theresa-?"
Focusing my attention back on 'Fu Hua', She asked me another question. "Where's your home?"
I tried to recall it, only giving myself a headache.
"I... I don't know. My head hurts..."
Fu Hua looked worried.
"Theresa, the honkai energy seems to have erased some memories." She called out.
Forcing my body to sit up, i noticed that I was bandaged basically everywhere. My clothes were torn and covered in dried blood.
"Careful." Fu Hua steadied me "Your not fully recovered yet. You've been out for about five days. While most of your wounds have healed, we aren't... well, we aren't sure how well your body is adapting."
"...adapting?" I muttered, very confused.
"Theresa will explain in a second."
I looked around the room I was in. I was sitting on a cushy bed in a small, white-walled cabin that looked like a hospital wing.
There were several people in the room, though one caught my eye.
She was dressed in a blue and black... dress, and was holding a huugee golden cross! She barely looked to be nine years old!
"Theresa." Fu Hua called to the child, a hint of annoyance in her tone.
"Yes?"
"I already told you that you needed to talk to (y/n)." Fu Hua reminded her.
"Oh, that's right!" The child- no, Theresa, snapped her fingers, walking over to me.
"N-nice to meet you... I'm (y/n)." I stuttered.
"I know that already, silly girl. Now, I'm sure you're confused about what's happening." Theresa started.
I nodded.
"To start, your onboard what used to be a Schicksal ship, owned by myself." Theresa winked "a few months back, my grandpa, the overseer of Schicksal-"
"Oh! I know him! He came to visit my highschool just last year! Otto Apocalypse, right?" I burst out, glad to finally be familiar with something.
"Yes, that's him. Though he's a lot worse than he appears to be... that man is always scheming."
I tilted my head.
"Look, just let me finish, alright?" Theresa groaned.
"Right..." I trailed off, ready for the rest of the speech.
"Anyways, I split off from Schicksal a few months back during what came to be known as the battle of Schicksal. Since then, we've been allied with Anti-Entropy."
"This all happened because grandpa decided it was a good idea to bring back the Herrscher of the Void."
Herrscher? What's that??
"A Herrscher is the concentrated embodiment of honkai, and are envoys of it's will. The incident a few years back in Siberia was a major Honkai eruption caused by a herrscher- the Herrscher of the Void, Sirin."
"Otto planned a project to clone Sirin, trying to use her powers for his own ideas. He kidnapped Kiana, a clone that housed the Herrscher's will, and awakened the Herrscher of the Void once again."
Theresa suddenly looked downcast.
"We lost a good friend returning her to normal, Himeko donned a battlesuit with a Herrscher core fueling it, and sacrificed herself to return Kiana to normal."
I was stunned. "Who was she...?"
"A teacher at my school, St. Freya. Returning to the original topic, we then went to the deep, an Anti-Entropy base."
"Bronya, who you haven't met yet, fell into the sea of quanta and returned as the Herrscher of Reason. We relocated Kiana in Arc City, where she was fighting back against the Herrscher and an organization known as World Serpent."
"Kiana used her Herrscher powers to launch a honkai bomb out of the atmosphere, saving the whole city. She was then, once again, captured by Schicksal."
"We found her again in the ruined city of Nagazora, where Mei- who isn't with us now- she's still alive though- rescued her and committed herself to stopping the city from having another honkai incident by using the energy to transform her back into the Herrscher of Thunder."
"Mei, having made a deal with World Serpent's Sire, Kevin, left with him to join the organization. Kiana returned to us, and we began to search for Fu Hua, as her consciousness was missing."
"Fu Hua had nearly been killed in the battle of Schicksal, so she had transferred her consciousness to one of the fenghuang down she's famous for."
"Kiana and Bronya searched Mount Taixuan- only to find Fu Hua had been taken by a Herrscher that had awakened in her soulless body."
"Kiana eventually defeated the Herrscher, and Fu Hua, now free, rejoined the crew. On our way to our next destination, we found you."
I blinked. This was a lot to take in. As if sensing my thoughts, Theresa whispered something to Fu Hua, who grabbed my hand and took me outside the room.
