"Please, please," Maurice came stumbling into the pub, finally making it back to the village, "Someone, someone. You, help..."
"Whoa, whoa," the Tavern Keeper came up to him, trying to calm the hysterical Maurice down
"You must help me. It's (Y/N)! He's got, he's got (Y/N). She's locked in a dungeon."
"Who's got her?"
"A Phantom! A huge, horrid, monstrous Phantom!"
Everyone around him just laughed at his story. But Maurice couldn't have been more serious.
"My daughter's life is in danger. Why do you laugh?" Maurice asked them, "It's not a joke. His castle is hidden in the woods. It's already winter there."
"Winter in June?" Jean asked as the villagers laughed
"Crazy old Maurice!" An old woman said
"Listen to me!" Maurice had enough of their taunts, "The Phantom is real. Do you understand? Will no one help me?"
"I'll help, Maurice," Gaston spoke up
"What?" Maurice turned to Gaston as he stood from his chair, "You will?"
"Everybody... stop making fun of this man at once."
"Captain, thank you."
"Don't thank me, Maurice. Lead us to the Phantom."
The villagers seemed confused as to why Gaston was falling for this seemingly crazy story. Who would ever believe that there was a Phantom living in a castle? But Lefou caught onto Gaston's plan. Gaston only wanted to save (Y/N) to win her favor regardless if Maurice's claims were true. Maurice began to lead the two into the forest to find this Phantom. Meanwhile, back at the castle, the chipped teacup was excited at the news of there being a girl in the castle.
The cup's mother, Mrs. Potts, was doing everything to calm her son, Chip, down. He was so excited. But she got the boy to calm down before he broke something of his. Meanwhile, the Phantom walked into the dining room, ready for his dinner. But, when he sat down, he saw that two sets of plates and dishes had been set up. And he knew exactly who they were for. Swiping the plates and cutlery off the table, the Phantom called out to Lumiere, knowing that the French flirt was behind this. The Phantom burst into the kitchen to confront his staff.
"You're making her dinner!" The Phantom said, clearly upset
"Well, we thought you might appreciate the company," Lumiere defended himself
"Master Erik, I just want to assure you that I had no part in this hopeless plan," Cogsworth said, trying to make sure his master knew that he had no part in this, "Preparing a dinner, designing a gown for her, giving her a suite in the East Wing!"
"You gave her a bedroom?!" Erik asked Cogsworth
"No, no, no. He gave her a bedroom," Cogsworth pointed to Lumiere
"This is true," Lumiere admitted, "But if this girl is the one who can break the spell then maybe you could start by using dinner to charm her. Good thinking, Cogsworth!"
"What?"
"That's the most ridiculous idea I've ever heard!" Erik scoffed "Charm the prisoner!"
"But you must try, Master," Lumiere said in a calm voice, "With every passing day we become less human."
"She's the daughter of a common thief. What kind of person do you think that makes her?"
"Oh, you can't judge people by who their father is, now can you?" Mrs. Potts asked Erik
