I shuffled through the door, dragging my luggage behind me. If it was Beatriz, my half sister, she would have all of the servants in the estate carrying her entire room out. I waved to the guard, but he ignored me completely. I rolled my eyes, and continued to walk, out of breath. I looked at the footman expecting him to help me into the carriage. He didn't. I sighed and put my luggage in first, then pulled myself up in through the door. He didn't even close the door, I had to close it myself. The carriage started moving, and I felt a huge weight come off my shoulders. I was finally free! I did a small happy dance before the carriage hit a bump in the road and I was thrown to the floor. I winced as my wing corset imprinted into my back. 'ouch!' I thought, adding a few choice words out loud. The coachmen didn't even ask if I was okay from his seat at the front of the carriage, he drove on. I dont know why they don't take me seriously, I was the oldest child of Count Tammer, and they didn't know I was a fairy! Father had kept it hidden well, mostly out of shame. I was suprised he didn't just kill me as a baby. I guess he still had an ounce of humanity left within him, to not kill his own seed. Honestly, that fate would have been better than what he put has through. But none of that matters now, I'm finally free! Free to fall in love, and make actual friends! As long as I get to the palace safely. I should probably go to sleep, and rest for when I finally get to the palace. I dozed off, and had a vivid dream. Almost nightmare. A faceless man found out about my secret. I was showing him my wings, shining blue and pink in the moonlight. And then he touched them. I immediately shot up from my sleep panting and broke out in a cold sweat.
