The day was clear and bright. Naomi Alvara was walking side by side with Mrs.Alvara, her mother towards a 'Hatter's hat shop', buying a new hat. Obviously as a child of a rich family, Naomi owned more hats than she even needed but according to her mother, non of them were good enough for this day. The day when Naomi would meet her future husband for the first time.

Naomi hated it. She didn't want to get married, not in many years at least. She's going to turn eighteen next month and not long after that is the wedding. Naomi felt sick in the stomach. She wouldn't want to be trapped with someone who she had no interest in. She hadn't ever even met a guy who would make her consider marriage.

But here she was now, standing in a hat shop while her mother was twiddling different colored hats while also discussing with the assistant who smiled politely and showed her their best and most expensive hat collection.

"Oh what about this darling?", her mom held a white hat that was decorated with navy blue feathers. Before Naomi could answer, her mother shook her head and turned to look other hats excitetly. Naomi sighed and looked around.

Her eye caught on a open door to another room. There was a girl around her age, currently sewing a purple ribbon around a hat. The girl looked very focused on her work. She was wearing a simple green dress and her brown hair was tied on one braid.

All of sudden the girl lifted her gaze from the work and turned to look at Naomi who didn't realize she was staring and she felt her cheeks getting red. The girl gave her an awkward smile and then turned back to her work. Naomi let out a breath which she didn't realize she was holding and quickly walked up to her mom who immediately started trying different hats on the girl.

...

"What a great service they have there", Mrs.Alvara said happily as she stepped out of the shop with her daughter and shoved the two bags on Naomi's arms. Mrs.Alvara couldn't resist but buy hat for herself as well. They were all so adorable and the hat she bought for herself would absolutely top off her tonight's outfit.

Mrs.Alavra's husband owned a very important company that designed ships for the wars that has been upon us lately and even years before that. Alvara's family was known for being wealthy and all the money that they have been making has provided them to live a very rich life in a huge estate with many cars, great servants with lots of expensive clothes and jewlery and food that was best of the quality.

There was car waiting for them outside and the driver was holding a door open for both of them.

"Was the shopping trip successful if I may ask?", their personal driver Mr.Johnson asked and glanced two of them trough the rear view mirror.

He was about forty years old with dark brown hair and grey eyes. He was a nice man and he had worked as Alvara's driver past ten years now. He had a wife and  three kids who Naomi had met couple of times since her dad had a habit of inviting them over for a dinner every once in a while.

"The trip was perfect, I found a hat that caresses Naomi's face just so neatly", Mrs.Alvara enthused.

"Sounds great", Johnson smiled and started the car and made our way towards the home.

...

"Oh perfect, you're here, the dinner's almost ready", the housekeeper miss Davis announced politely. Miss Davis was old, strict and scary woman who's job was to take care of the house chores and help to make sure that Naomi didn't do anything un ladylike and that she got up in time and took piano lessons everyday. If Naomi didn't listen Miss Davis, she was allowed to punish her. Mrs.Alvara treated the housekeeper poorly and didn't like her too much but let her work here since she got her job done. Naomi could swear that Davis was a witch from the way she acted sometimes and from how awful she truly was.
