2. Dinner Table

I am not surprised.
The Death Forest as its name suggests, has a dark secret. No one can enter it except those of Calnon blood.
The people who raised their voices against the Calnon family or its crime were tortured and thrown in the abandoned village in the middle of this small forest.
"Lady Raina... How will you expose them?"
I keep my cup of tea down" I' will force them to expose themselves"
There's no other way around.
"What about my actual family?"
Yona keeps the piece of paper "There is someone else behind it."
"Who?" I hope my face isn't looking as tense as it is.
"We...we haven't found it yet" Yona looks down as if she didn't like the way she performed in getting the information.
"It's okay" I stand up. I had to leave so I won't be late for dinner tonight.
"I will come back soon" I continue.

At the dinner table
I sat at the dinner table with the 5 top most ranked kids of my father. I have always maintained my second rank to get as much information as possible.

"Father, I heard that you announced your retirement." Black hair, deep blood-colored eyes, and pale eyes. Four years older than me. It was Neo who ranked 1st among the top kids of Duke Laon Calnon. A loyal dog to my father.
"Neo, you heard right. As you heard I'm going to retire in a year."
Neo puts his fork on the table, crosses his arms, and leans on the chair. "But because of this everyone will suddenly try to be better." He glances across the table to the other 3 sitting there. He finally glances at me.
"Neo, you're going to be the next Duke and you know that very well. No one can be better than you and Raina here."
"FATHER!" Brown hair and brown eyes. It was Heiry the fourth-ranked one.
"Don'you Raina shouldn't include as she is a woman." He smirks.
He was challenging me. Doubting me. "Why? Because you are afraid I will always be above you. Such an insecure man you are." I put my hand on my face spreading my fingers so that my slight smile is visible.
I want to punch this man in the face. "You should be ashamed you can't even defeat a woman. That's pathetic." I chuckle.
The only reason he is in the top 5 is because Heiry's mother threatened suicide. At last, he accepted but only for a month as his mother was his father's favorite wife.
"Stop!" It was father.
Father then glances at one end of the table. He places his handkerchief on the table and picks up his knife. He swings it in front of Neo's eyes and points it toward Alex. The 5th ranking one.
Neo gets up and starts walking toward Alex. Knife in his left hand and fork in his right. A blink and he was behind Alex. Just as Alex turned his head 30° to the right Neo stabs the fork on the right side of the neck and then stabs again with the knife in his hand right through his neck, through the center.
