After what happened last night, Andrew would've liked an explanation. But Andrew trusts Lily to tell him at her own time. Lily just can't wrap her head around what happened. She really did fight Axa, in Andrew's honor, even though he could have defended himself. Lily thought that the fight would get her off her tail, not more to it.
Instead Axa just had to make camp right next to theirs. Although they were going to move in the morning. Andrew unzipped his tent and stepped out. He looked at Lily to see if she was okay. I really hope she's okay, I don't know if interfering was a good idea. I just don't want her to get hurt. Andrew thought. His eyes softened in concern while he was looking at her.
Lily picked up her head from her now slightly dirty paws. "Yes? Andrew, what do you need? I felt you look at me for a while now." Lily said. "Let me guess, you got zero sleep Lily?" Andrew said, rubbing his eyes. "Neither did you, it seems." Lily responded, standing up. She shook her pelt and some dried blood and dirt fell. "Hmmm" She said, looking at the dirt.
"Gross," A familiar cold voice said, "I thought you'd be a lot cleaner, heh, but being who you are, I really can't say anything." "Axa, we did not allow you to stay the night here." Andrew said, trying to sound commanding. "Too bad. I did," She responded. "What are you going to do about it? Huh? Turn into a dragon and yell at me? So much power wasted on you." Axa's words tried to hit at Andrew's core, but failed. Andrew decided not to press the matter but Lily could hear him saying something under his breath. It sounded a lot like "I can do more than yell. I could rip you apart, if you ever-'' The sentence stopped short when he saw Lily straining to listen to the last words. "Uh, can I help you, Lily?" Andrew asked, his face turning red in embarrassment. Lily just stared back at him, head cocked to the side with the most confused, cute, and friendly face. "What? Is there something on my face?" Andrew said. "Oh, nothing." Lily said and walked away not fond of the awkward moment they just shared.
" Oh Lily, how can you be so stupid? What in the world would possess you to fall for a human?" Axa said, rolling her eyes. She trodded forward. "I advise you to leave her alone or you will see what a dragon can do, and I can tell you it's more than just being able to shake the trees," Andrew said coldly. "Let's pack up Lily, it's time to leave this part of the forest." Andrew turned away and started to pack up.
Oh, Andrew being left alone is what got us in this situation. It's what compelled my pack to come back. Being left alone is my worst nightmare, Andrew. . . or it used to be, before I met you. Lily inwardly sighed.
Lily glared at Axa for a good minute, letting a growl form in her throat, and then let it die. No Lily, It's not a battle worth picking. She thought, and with that she turned to help Andrew pack up the rest of the camp. Andrew started to pick up his tent and other things while Lily took the supplies that she stashed away, that Axa had given her. in her makeshift den. It had taken her a good hour of digging that night. Strangely Andrew didn't mind, even though it made a lot of noise and probably kept him up for a good portion of the night. Since I didn't do it for a continuous hour, I stopped and started a lot. Lily thought, curiously. Wait. Maybe. No. Tha- that would be impossible. Humans just can't be with wolves. It's forbidden. Unless. . . no that is wild thinking, but what if I am.
"Lily, you ready to head to our next town?" Andrew said, breaking her train of thought. "Yea, I think so," Lily replied, dragging a burlap sack that was tied around her waist. "Wait!" She exclaimed. "Where are we going?" I mean I would follow you anywhere. BECAUSE you're a natural leader, no other reason. She thought, like he could hear her, or she was trying to convince herself of that. After an awkward silence, Andrew asked, "Why do you have a burlap sack around you?" When he finished, he cracked a smile, which ended up as laughter. "It's some supplies that- um. . . I found for our travels?" She ended with which sounded like a question
"You're a horrible liar, Lily. Tell me what it is." Andrew stated, "What are you trying to hide from me?" He continued harsher than he meant it, Lily flinched at his tone. "Well, I mean you can talk to me about it if you want to." Andrew said, making his voice a little softer, glancing away. "Just why are you looking at me like that? Andrew, what are you doing!?" Lily asked, laughing, shocked and confused, staring at him. He started to moonwalk while smirking."You look like an idiot." She remarked, "Come, let us go to our next town" "Oh come on! Why can't you enjoy my dancing!?" Andrew pouted. "Why do you act like a pup?" Lily muttered. "Hm? You said something?" Andrew asked her as they started to walk away from the camping place. After a while of silence Andrew started singing a song in his head "Ding dong. Ding-ding-ding ding dong. Just eat. Ding dong. Ding-ding-ding ding dong." Lily looked up at him courously. "What song are you singing?" She asked. "Oh, I actualy don't know the song name." Andrew chuckled. "Hmm" Lily hummed as she trotted by him. The view they had was amazing and once in a lifetime. They looked up at the forested mountain side. The Sun was setting, giving the sky a painted look. It was breathtaking. The birch trees nearby also gave the view a more enchanted look. The leaves swayed, and danced playfully in the breeze. (For book reasons. I don't like the word breeze) "Woah" they said in usion, sparkles in their eyes. "That's so cool!" Andrew said, smiling and hoverd for a second or two. "I-..... I've never seen something so...... beautiful before." Lily said quietly. (WAAAAAAAAAAH THIS SCENE IS SO CUTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 🥲) Andrew looked down at her. "Uh- for a better view, can I carry you?" He asked nervously. Lily was quite shocked at the question. She thought about it for a few seconds then nodded. "Yes, I would like to be picked up." She said shyly. Andrew picked her up like a child, holding her with her back feet in one hand, the upper in the other. He started to flap his huge wings, lifting them up into the air. Lily was startled a bit, she leaned closer to Andrew "Woah, I'll take it slow for you Lily." Andrew smiled. They ascended in the air, the landscape getting ever so smaller.
The wind gently breezed through their hair and fur. Making it wave gently. The view was amazing, looking down on the forested valley. Once they made it to about 20 feet in the air they looked around in awe. "Extra woah" Andrew said. "I know," Lily whispered. "It's.... Wonderful.... How did you know about this?" Lily asked Andrew. "I didn't, we just saw it rise" Andrew whispered, awe in his voice.
"Anyways, I should set us down now" Andrew said, trying not to make things awkward. "No, it's fine. I want to stay up here a bit longer." Lily replied. "Oh, okay..... If that's what you want" Andrew chuckled awkwardly. They stay up in the air until the sun fully sets. Andrew lands on the ground and gently sets Lily down. "Where to next?" Lily asked, looking up at him. "Uh, let's wander around and see what we can find," Andrew replied. "I think there's a town 12 kilometers east of here. We can rest along the way!" He smiles.
They head off towards the town. Midnight soon came as they finaily reached it, "Dragon Claw, hmm, all the nearest towns are dragon themed. I guess I should expect that from being in the Dragon nation." Lily read off of the town sign, chuckling. "Yeah, you get used to it. Scale Forest is the largest forest ever. It's like the only forest," Andrew informed her. "Let's see if I can sneak you into a hotel room." "No thanks, I don't like to be enclosed in rooms." Lily replied. Andrew looked down at her in surprise
"Oh, sorry. I didn't know that" He looked down at the ground again, flicking his scaly tail a bit. He couldn't help but have the need to have her at arm's reach at night. "I'll find a ground floor room near the back entrance, alright?" Lily nodded at his statement. They looked around the dark town and found a nice inn by a hot spring. The spring was walled around for obvious reasons. The back led into dence wooding, making it enchanting. The inn itself looked like a big cottage made for 20.
