I've concluded that the universe must be playing some sick game on me. Simple.

Because there is no logical way in hell, Aaron has just been announced as the president of ITENS.

I want to pinch myself to ensure I'm not hallucinating, but I'm too stunned to move.

Aaron shakes hands with the man who made his announcement, and everyone sits back down. Libby, who up until this point had been staring intently at me, scoots closer to me and Hannah.

"Am I tripping? Cause what the fuck! He's president?"

Hannah nods. "Chica I'm literally thinking the same thing."

"Thank you so much Jamie," Aaron starts. "Good morning y'all, I want to start by saying it's a pleasure to be having this meeting. I want to announce that my company has recently purchased ownership of this agency, which makes me your new president. Tina could you please stand up."

I watch as a pretty, tall, blonde-haired lady gets up from her seat. She smiles brightly, with perfect teeth, as she waves at the room.

"Tina here will be taking the position of your last CEO -Mr Jefferson." Aaron starts clapping for Tina, prompting everyone else to clap for her. "You can sit back down Tina. ITENS will be going through a reconstructive phase, as I hope to take you guys to full height of success, but not to worry I wanna assure you that no one will be loosing their jobs in the process."

His announcement triggers more applause; everyone is satisfied that their jobs are safe. Aaron pauses and waits for the room to quiet down before continuing. "I hope you guys enjoy seeing my face, because I plan for us to gather like this often."

"Oh, we enjoy seeing your face!" Someone yells out; their tone very suggestive.

Everyone laughs, including Aaron, his eyes resting briefly on the influencer who had made the statement before landing on me.

I look away immediately.

"Well that's good to hear, Now let's have Tina up here to share some ideas."

Aaron walks to the table where Tina is sitting and takes a chair that places him directly in my peripheral vision.

Tina begins to share some very impressive ideas, and occasionally, she answers some questions from the audience. I can't help but notice how poised and articulate she is.

Or should I say I force myself to stay focused on Tina? It's either that or acknowledge Aaron, whose eyes I can feel occasionally burning into the side of my face.

Melany leans to Libby, Hannah, and I as she whispers- "Is it just me, or is our hot president looking this way?" Dalton says something to her, and she instantly returns to conversing with him.

"Melany's totally right." Hannah agrees. "He is looking this way, specifically your way Yas."

Why does he have to be so obvious with the staring?

"Totally." Agrees Libby.

God, please let this meeting end already!

When Tiana finishes her too-long speech, and the meeting gets dismissed, I barely wait on my friends before I rush out.

"Girl, isnt it weird that you run into Aaron Ashgroove at Auroras cabin then all of a sudden he becomes the our president?"

I want to ignore Hannah, but I'm finding it hard to when im thinking the same thing.

"You think Aurora has been holding out on you?"

I turn to face them when we get into an elevator and start our descent downstairs.
