Chapter 10 - Reveal

Zoran was at home after school on Friday. He checked the mailbox and his test results were in there. He brought in the mail and ripped open his test results. Zoran scored an 89 overall which was good enough to go to school which is near Brussels. Zoran is hoping Will is good to go also. He will call Will later to find out how he did.

Hopper Home 6:30pm

Joyce was washing up the dishes from supper while Will dried and put away the dishes. They were almost done when there was a knock at the door. Jim was working on a case so he left 15 minutes ago.

"I'll finish up Mom. You can answer the door."

"Ok sweetie." Joyce wiped her hands on the dish towel and walked to the door. When she opened the door she saw a face she never saw since 1970 and never thought she would ever see again.

"Carmine Roscotti, is that really you?" Joyce had a wide-eyed look.

"Yes Joyce, it is me. Can I come in?" Joyce let him in. He was dressed like a businessman or lawyer with a fancy scarf, overcoat and shiny leather dress shoes. Joyce saw he looked about the same as he did 16 years ago with a different haircut. Did he ever age?

"Is he here?" Carmine wanted to see the boy he helped bring into this world.

"Yeah, he is in the kitchen. I'll put on the coffee. Come with me." Jane came down the stairs, "who is that Joyce?" Jane stared at the man.

"It's a long story honey. Can you go back to your room for now?" Carmine looked at Jane and back at Joyce.

"Ok Joyce." Jane went back to her room.

"Is she your daughter Joyce?"

"My stepdaughter." Will met them when they came into the kitchen.

"So this is William." Joyce nodded with a proud smile on her face. Carmine put his hands on Will's upper arms near his shoulders in a hold. "Incredible, nice to meet you William." Will got kind of creeped out while Carmine grinned at him. Carmine put out his hand and Will and him shook hands.

"Who is this man Mom?" Will had a puzzled look with eyebrows piched upward.

"Will, this is Carmine Roscotti, he was involved, uh nevermind." Joyce never told Will about this man at all.

"William, do you know Matt and Joni Efta and their son Zoran?" Will was wondering why he is asking this question.

"Yes I do. Zoran is my friend."

"Good. I worked with the Eftas in the past. I know them fairly well." As soon as he said that Will understood what he was talking about. Joyce seemed nervous. The phone rang and Joyce went to answer it. Carmine and Will made small talk.

"Will, Zoran called, and wants to talk to you. Can you get ready and go to his house for about an hour or so." Joyce didn't want Will to hear what they will talk about until she can tell him.

"Are you sure Mom?" Will didn't want to leave her alone with this man.

"Yes, it's fine." Will put on his shoes, grabbed his jacked and hat and left.

Joyce forgot about Jane being upstairs. Jane snook partially down the stairs when she heard the door shut. She listened in to Joyce and Carmine.

"... I never heard from you since before Will was born, why are you here now and what do you want with my boy?" Joyce was frustrated that Carmine with the new situation.

"Will is very important to us. He is needed to fulfill his role. We didn't spend all this time bringing him into this world just to not use him. He is probably one of the most important people on this planet right now...." Carmine was still talking but Jane heard this part. She wondered if Will was some kind of experiment like she was. Jane is kind of excited about Will being like her in a way. It means they have more in common.
