Madeline's POV:
I opened the email which was from Mr. Danes. Spencer got closer to me to look at my phone, looking in my eyes first which led us to lock eyes for about 3 seconds. I felt so many butterflies in my stomach and for a second I froze. "What's wrong" Spencer said worryingly. I quite literally jumped. "Nothing. Just thought of something." I looked down at my phone. It was off. I felt so embarrassed. "Are you planning on opening the email Keller?" He said with a smirk.

Our families have been best friends ever since we were born. We always went out together and had dinner almost every week. I wasn't very close with Spencer though. He teased me when we were kids, but he grew out of it and I kind of distanced myself ever since I accepted the fact that I had feelings for him. Even though we had grown and stopped fighting we still teased each other from time to time. For example, now when he called me by my last name. I hate being called by my last name for some reason.

"Oh shit sorry." I said and quickly opened the email. Spencer let out a little laugh at the fact that I was zoned out. When I opened the email it said that the whole class was stuck in traffic including our teacher and they were gonna a catch a later flight. It had an attachment of our tickets for a flight that left in 30 minutes. "Lets go Mads we'll barely be able to make it." Spencer said. "Okayy, but I have to go to the bathroom first." I said. Tbh I didn't even need to use it, I was just nervous. Im gonna spend several hours sitting in a plane next to Spencer.
