Chapter 2

We all go to our assigned rooms to get dressed. Mine and Hyde were in one room and the boys were in the other, the room looked almost like the school's locker rooms. It was extremely creepy that I knew that because I only went to school to steal something from them. There were four lockers with our first initials on it. When we opened them they had our clothing that we mainly steal in and I kind of hate it. I need to get in touch with Mr. Fabric so he can send me a new outfit. When I looked over Hyde was wearing a long sleeve, black, silk shirt with black Calvin Klein's pants on. She looked like she was going to the office and not robbing things. I was wearing the clothes they found me in. After we shut the lockers we opened up the lockers that had a giant "W" on it. After we opened it we realized that this wasn't our weapon, so we switched locks and saw our little toys. Then we left the room, when we got to the table we noticed Brutus at the end and Viper two seats away from him. I looked at Hyde then back at the seats and just took the one next to Brutus. His outfit had only a tank top and some shaggy jeans. Other than Vipers was a short sleeve shirt and some shorts... oh and a big snake around his neck.

"OK now that we are all here, my name is Archer and I am the leader of this group. You will serve in this group until your time is up. Do you understand that part?" He was straight forward with that statement. "OK, first off the assignment is in Russia, I understand that both Cronus and I are the only ones that can speak foreign languages. Is that true?"

"Ya I can speak several different languages, including Russian." After I said that the others looked at me like I was lying.

"OK then only me and Cronus will be undercover and the rest of you will hold back in the van until I say so. Are there any objections before I brief you on this job?"

I wasn't feeling well so I raised my hand, "ya I need to see that doctor I don't feel too good, I think I'm going to be sick." After I said that one of the guards grabbed me and took me to the doctor's office.

"Oh hello there, what's up?" He turned to see my pale face and jumped up out of the chair that he was sitting in. "Did she vomit on the way here?" After he asked, the guard nodded his head and stepped out of the room. "OK honey I'm going to remove your shirt and put these patches on your chest, they will be cold." I nodded slowly and he did what he said he was going to do.

After he did that I passed out when I came to, the others were in the room still out cold. I was wondering when they got there and if it was for the same thing. "Oh you're awake, how do you feel?"

"My head hurts and my body aches all over and I feel like I've been in a coma for about a year. Does that sum it up Doc?" Also my hands feel numb but it's fine I'm guessing.

"Well that's the good news, the bad news is that you must wear gloves... like always." He said that all with a smile, and that is what scared me the most. The thing that got me the most was that I wasn't handcuffed to the bed like normal.

"Doc, what's wrong with me, why do I have to wear the gloves? And please don't lie to me." I was being nice about it but if he did not tell me then I will take the gloves off.

First he looked down, then looked back at me. "Well my dear, you see the drug that is supposed to make you all forget, this had some unforeseen side effects, how would I put this..."

"Side Effects, an unpredictable outcome." It was archer at the door. He came just in time to, "see the first time that drug was given the patients die after a week so that is what we thought when you said that you weren't feeling well. But you inherited some unusual abilities. And that goes for the rest of the team as well." After he said that Brutus sat up.

He didn't like what he heard. "What do you mean? What the hell did you do to us? And why is she not in handcuffs and I'm in fucking shackles?" That was a lot of questions.

"Ya, I very much want to know as well?" After what Brutus said both Viper and Hyde sat up. Viper always agreed with Brutus but this time I was ready to mock his questions.

"Or we can ask Cronus to take off those gloves and give you a big ol hug? What do you say?" Hyde was persistent that he told us.

"OK, ok, well when they tried to handcuff Cronus, they... well, rusted every time they touched her hands or wrist. And Brutus you kept breaking yours like you were Superman or something every time you rolled over. So we put those on you." The doc posed for a breath before Archer took over.

"And as for you two we don't exactly know what you two can do, well not yet anyways." Viper and Hyde looked at each other then back at him.

"So you're saying that I have powers to kill anything I want just by the touch. That goes against one of my rules." I was now wondering if it was too late to take a Jail cell for five years.

"So it's true you never killed a person, not even one." Brutus started to laugh a little then stopped to ask me a question, "will you kill if someone you love was in danger or even if they are going to kill you?" He seemed serious.

So I answered his question with another, "OK let me ask you this, would you kill a mother of a baby or even a kid... let's say 10 or under?" He looked at me now with sad eyes.

After that he stopped laughing and didn't say a word after that. But he did have a good point; would I be able to hurt someone if I had to or not. On top of that I don't know that much about my new ability and how it will factor in with my job. Now I have to wear gloves that won't weather away, or even get close to what I need to get. Well the drug didn't help me see out of my left eye. I lost that eyesight over in Bulgaria to a man that wanted me, but when I rejected him he took a knife to my left eye. Now there's a slanted scar across my eye that I keep covered with makeup and my hair.

"OK, other than Cronus, can you take the others and finish your briefing? I need to check one more thing." He directed that entire thing towards me for some reason. After everyone left he handed me a spoon. "Here, cover your right eye and just stay looking at me?"

Oh shit he knows about my eye, "how did you know?"

"You had to go to a hospital at some point of time for that so tell me, is it all better or are you still blind? And the others don't know, not even Archer. This is our little secret. So can you see out of that eye of yours?"

I was hesitant at first but then I answered, "no it didn't give me my left eyesight back, I'm still blind." I wish the drug would have given me my eyesight back, not the power to kill people. "Um... question doc, do our powers go with our names?"

"Um ya probably, why do you ask?" He stopped writing and looked up at me.

"Well I was wondering, you said you tried to handcuff my left hand right, so what if..."

"Then your right hand can reverse the action, it's almost like your eyes, the left is bad and the right is good."

"Here give me the handcuffs?" As soon as I touched the handcuffs with my right hand they slowly started to repair themselves. "Wow now that's cool. Oh ya the job can I go now or is there anything else I can do." I was in a little hurry but it's fine.

"No that's all, oh and just go down the hall to the left, the door will say 'Cargo Bay' got it."

I nodded then started to head out. And I meet everyone in the cargo bay like the doc said. The other was a little curious but I wasn't going to say anything. After the plane took off Archer told me everything I needed to know. After that I get dressed in my new outfit. It wasn't my style so I modified it. The left glove and right sleeve was shortened and the left boot was as well. I also don't wear any types of heels when I'm at work. The others looked at me with a little concern, but I put their minds at ease. I pulled off my right glove and touched the bench, Viper jumped up in panic then sat right back down in a hurry. When everyone saw how scared he was we all laughed at him then set off for the job. We landed in a small town called Sofia, and it was pretty at first.
