Stay Away

Devin sat in the car waiting for Demari. Two minutes later he walked out the front door.

Devin's car

Devin noticed he looked irritated. Once he got in the car Devin asked
"Wassup wit you? It's too early in the morning to have an attitude dawg" as he pulled out of the driveway.
Demari looked at him and said
"Look man, stay away from my cousin aight?"
"Who?" Devin asked pretending to be confused
Demari looked at him like he was stupid and said
"Nigga you know exactly who I'm talking about! Tamera! Leave that alone Fr man, I'm telling you!"
"Why though?!" Devin asked confused for real this time "she seems like a cool girl, I wanna get to know more about her you know"
"Bruh you don't want that! Trust me! If you ever piss her off you definitely gone feel her wrath! Im just trynna save you! Did she even tell you why she's here?" Demari asked
"No.." Devin said sincerely
"She broke a chicks nose at her last school! They didn't wanna expel her because she's smart as fuck. So instead of ruining her future, they sent her to anger management and she had to do community service in exchange for her not coming back to that school... ANNNDD to get that shit taken off her record.. my uncle had to pay for that girls doctor bills and everything"
"Okay?!? Well what was the reason for the fight?"
"Nigga does it matter?" Demari asked angrily
"Yea it does!" Devin said seriously
Demari looked at Devin and sighed. He licked his lips before he talked
"The girl whose nose she broke fucked her boyfriend"
Devin looked at him and said
"That wasn't a bad reason, so why you trying so hard to get me not to talk to her"
"Because!! Ever since we were little I felt like I had to protect her!" He said looking out the window. Devin said
"Look man, you don't have to worry! I won't hurt her.. EVER! She's cool and I wanna get to know her more okay? I'm the last person you should be worried about!" Devin assured Demari.
"Okay.. just know if you fuck up! I'm fucking you up!" Demari said seriously.
Devin just looked at him. He never saw Demari's act protective over anyone, not even his own sister, so he knew he was serious.
They pulled up to school and got out of Devin's truck. As they were walking up to the school doors Demari saw their teammate Quamere talking to a girl he thought looked familiar. He didn't say anything, he just kept walking.

Quamere Reed 16 (Devin's best friend, Basketball player, Runs Track, A/B honor roll student

Devin walked up to Quamere and said
"Wassup man" as he dapped him up
"What up superstar!" He said smiling
"Aye chill wit all that" Devin said smiling
The girl stood there smiling and Q looked at her in amazement. Devin cleared his throat and Q said
"Oh my bad.. D this is Tiona. She just transferred here. I'm about to show her around" he said with a big smile on his face.
"Hey! Nice to meet you" Devin said as he reached his hand out to shake hers. She shook his hand and said
"Nice to meet you too"
Devin told Q he'd see him later and he walked off to class. He took his phone out and texted Tamera
"Good morning beautiful"
She texted back immediately
"Good morning handsome"
"I wish you were here, when are you coming back?"
"I'll be back on Thursday"
"Okay cool, I'll call you when I get out of practice later today"
"Okay"
"Enjoy your day! Stay alive lol"
"Lol.. I will! You enjoy yours as well"
Devin walked into his first period class and began to start his day.

Right after first period, Devin found Demari and started bugging him about Tamera. Demari was now getting irritated with him.
"You know what! Go ahead.. and yo ass gone be the next one to getcho fucking nose broke!" Demari said with more anger than Devin liked
"Damn bruh.. calm down"
"Ain't no calm down.. you been bugging me since we left 1st period.. even texting my phone during class about her.. gone talk to her bro.. and when she takes off on yo ass, DON'T call me! AT ALL!!"
Demari said before waking off.. Devin didn't care what Demari said, he was going to talk to her regardless.
