The scientist lady still looks afraid of me. To be honest, I feel the same way. Or, well- I probably feel a lot more sleepy than her, but that's unimportant right now, I'm sure. I doubt she'll help me though, considering it's part of her job to keep me here and-

"I'll help."

What?

"This must... This must have been a misunderstanding. You do not seem to be the kind of person... Robot... Thing... That would do the kind of thing to deserve this. This isn't right. I... I had no idea that you guys were actually aware this whole time."

Wait... So...

"They think that I can't think? Are you serious? They literally coded me to be able to- ah, nevermind. It's not important right now, I guess. So you really are going to help me?"

She seems to consider it for a couple more seconds.

"Yeah. I... This has the potential to go absolutely horribly, but I think we could be a good team, right? Plus, you've got those... Claws, or whatever... So if anyone tries to jump us or something, we're all set for that."

May's not very optimistic, is she?

I am about to stand up and go with her when my vision darkens a bit.

[Power levels critically low.]

[Shutdown imminent.]

"Ohh, that's not good... Okay, um..."

May looks at me funny. "Byte, you okay?"

"No, actually. Um, do you happen to know where an outlet is?"

"I don't. Why do you- ah, right. Um..."

She looks around. "Here's one."

My mind feels a bit foggy.

[Battery level: 2%. Power save mode active.]

[Use backup energy: Y/N]

"No, um, I'm good."

[Access denied.]

I walk over and take a rest.

"Okay, so, a bit weird, but this doesn't need to happen often. I can last for like, a year without charging. But if I was counting correctly... Oh my goodness, I kind of hope I wasn't, actually... If I was counting correctly, it's been about seven of those. So... Kind of... Tired."

And then we waited. For... A while, to say the least
