Chapter 15

     I blinked in awe as I took in my surroundings, standing in Spider HQ. I probably looked dumb, my jaw dropped so wide a fly could go in and I wouldn't notice. 

     I snapped out of it when I heard Pavitr chuckle beside me. I averted my gaze to look at him.

     "You remind me of how I was when I first for here." He joked. I shook my head and awkwardly laughed, still in disbelief. 

     Pavitr nodded towards the pathway in front of us, gesturing for us to walk on. So we did, walking along this pathway, as I still looked around and the various Spider people. 

     "So." Pavitr started up a conversation. "Everyone in your universe knows me and my identity? But knows me as  a fictional character?" 

     I nodded. "Along with most of your other Spidey friends, yeah. Miguel, Hobie, you, Miles, Gwen and everyone."

     "Miles?" He questioned.

     I blinked. It completely slipped my mind that he might not have known Miles' name. I had assumed Gwen had told him.

     "You'll meet him later." I told him with a smile. Thankfully he didn't pry any further on the matter.

     "So, you watched the movie, the day before you landed here, right?" Pavitr asked, looking right at me.

     I nodded back at him, the smile still on my face.

     "Who was your favourite character?" 

     I broke eye contact as I felt a small sheepish smile form on my face. "You."

     Pavitr fell silent, until I heard him snickering. I turned my gaze to look at him again, finding myself grinning.

     "I didn't expect that." He admitted.

     "What else did you expect? Come on, you were the obvious choice." I poked at his arm, playfully.

     He had a huge toothy grin at the praise. He poked me back, which prompted a small yell from me. "You're going to boost my ego at this rate."

     I gasped mockingly. "Oh no! Too bad."

     He smiled bashfully at my response. "Uh huh, well then maybe-"

     Pavitr couldn't finish his sentence when a loud thud interrupted him. My heart jumped to my throat at the sudden noise of something enormous and metallic dropped down in front of us. I craned my head upwards to see the huge mech in front of me, that was easily double my height. Possibly bigger.

     "Hey Pav! Woah." A mechanical voice sounded from the robot. The hood of the mech lifted to reveal an awfully young girl. I was not expecting that.

     She jumped swiftly out of the mech and landed perfectly in front of me. Unlike the mech, she was much shorter than me, highlighting her young age. She stood up on her toes, leaning forward and squinting at me. I leaned back, feeling threatened despite I was taller.

     "You're spidey-suit is unique. Or do you not have a suit yet? Are you a newbie spider-person?" She spewed out a string of questions rapidly. 

      I laughed nervously as Pavitr answered for me. "No she's- she's not a spier person."

     She furrowed her eyebrows, tilting her head to the side. She took a closer look at me, as if she was judging my character. "A villain? But she seems to be too willing to be captured."
