I found this Journal in the upstairs bedroom of the church, places like that are what we survivors call the "Dark Zones." Cox's theory was right, they don't like the sun.

A few of us adventure during the night, when the infected lurk around the streets, to scavenge supplies, when we went in the church I took the upstairs levels and my partner, Bill, took downstairs.

We found a lot of food in there, plenty of water and some books, this one included. I read through it, and it brought back memories from the first day. I can't believe we didn't know about it sooner. This town is a fucking joke.

I thought I'de continue John's Journey through my own, and maybe I can give it the ending it deserves.

At the time being, me and 25 others are hold up in the general store, good job it's large. There was plenty of supplies here, but we need more each day. It holds it's own pretty well too, the other night a group of infected attacked the store, we held them off okay. What we have come to find is that body shots only slow them down, and a spear straight through the head, or a hammer destroying its brains, is the only thing that kills them.

My name is Carl Smith. I already mentioned Bill. Me and him met up with some other survivors hold up at the doctors office, they reinforced it after the events that led to Dr. Hart's death and are doing okay, we began to join each other on scavenger missions within the town, but as resources grow scarce, and trains with supplies stopped rolling in, we are starting to consider more drastic measures.

What we've found suggests that a few people against a few infected is a battle that is won by us, this means of course, that we could fight them. Unfortunately, not everyone is fit to fight, but if we are going to get out of this town alive, we need to all band together and fight them, or we are all going to be the infected's last meals.

Bill is at the Doctors office seeing who he can band together for an offence against them, and I'm going to see who is fit to fight here, if we are going to have any chance of defeating them, we need to act quickly during the day, where they rest, and kill them while they are weakest.

For now, we are going to keep surviving, and to whoever may find this, if we fail, don't fight. Run. Run far, far away unless you expect an early grave.

I'll be in touch.
