A few hours after the battle, I sat high up in a towering sequoia near the castle as I watched people celebrate and rejoice. Fireworks and festive lights lit up the twilight sky. I smiled as I watched the people and creatures down below dancing, eating treats, and playing games. The younger kids running around with their friends while carrying popping sparklers with every color to ever exist.

I found it quite funny that only a few months ago I had been in this exact same position, but instead running away from some of the people that I now called friends and allies.

"How did you even get up there up a bandaged arm?" Felix huffed, swinging himself up onto the branch I was sitting on. "I'm so tired from the battle that I could barely get up here, I had to use a grip potion on my shoes and hands so that my aching muscles wouldn't give away." he whined.

"What muscles?"  I questioned smugly. Laughing as I ducked my head to avoid his hand that had come to hit my head from behind.

Felix huffed, crossing his arms. "Hmph." We sat in silence for a while before he asked, "What are you thinking about?"

"Just thinking about how far we've all come." I replied, the gentle wind swaying the Sequoia's leaves and blowing my braided hair behind me. Even my hair has changed and grown longer. I thought to myself. After that, the two of us just sat there, enjoying each other's company, and watching as the stars and moon appeared in the night sky.
