A/N: This is still in the making but I'll try to get chapters out as fast as I can :)) a small thing a want everyone to know is that these first few chapters are pretty short (they get longer I swear) and are pretty cringe. I wanted to change this while editing but I left it in just to show Aspen's character near the beginning compared to the end. So please bare with me 😭 Also, a lot of these chapters will include art by me but my art style changes throughout the book. This first one of Aspen and Lyra is one of my newest and a few drawings won't look as good... anyway I hope you guys enjoy :)

For once, the streets of Ninjago city were quiet. Perhaps it was because of the time, late noon, or of the dangers going through the city. She knew the ninja were out trying to fight whatever was out there, even though she couldn't hear or see them. Aspen Grace, a baker working in a small bakery hidden in the streets of Ninjago, was working the night shift as usual. She, although being a huge fan, strayed away from most of their actions and continued to work. Alongside her friend, Lyra, of course. They managed to arrange their schedules so that they'd always be aligned. In doing so they ended up always having night shifts and weekends together.
"What if we could meet the ninja, what would you do?" Lyra asked, walking behind Aspen to get to the sink. "Oh wait I have a better one - which one of the ninja would you want to meet?"
She finally reached the sink and turned the faucet on, washing off all the dough on her hands. From somewhere behind her in the bakery Lyra heard a quiet sigh from Aspen. "I don't know. It seems pretty impossible that we'd ever encounter one of the ninja. I wouldn't know what I'd do or say."
Lyra was a little disappointed in her friend's answer, but she understood a bit. Aspen was an incredible person and capable of almost anything yet she had so little hope for when it came to "unrealistic" dreams. "Well I do, I know what I'd do. I would get to know the ninja and get both of us linked with them!"
She stifled a laugh knowing Aspen stiffened at the response. Despite Lyra's strange wording, the brunette still got flustered at the thought. It always seemed like a fan girl story but just thinking she could really be with one of them made her cheeks heat up slightly. "L-Lyra!"
"What!" She said finally releasing her laughter. "It was clearly a joke! Kind of." She muttered the last part to herself.
"Well you shouldn't joke about that. They have their own lives and they look too busy to be in a relationship let alone any kind of romance especially with a citizen of Ninjago."
