"Stanley honey, are you awake?"

Stanley raised his head sleepily, exhaustion tugging at him to lower himself back into the comfort of the bed.

"Yeah, I'm awake mom" Stanley hollers, his voice strained a little.

The door in front of him swung open, Stanley's mom peered into the room before stepping in the frame fully.

The small digital clock next to Stanley's bed shown "7:00 am" in chunky, red print.

Stanley rubbed his eyes as he sat up further, confused why she was waking him so early.

Setting down on his bed side, she smiled a little "sorry to wake you, me and your father have a company meeting in an hour. We were wondering if you wanted to wanted to have family dinner at a restaurant? You can invite friends"

Stanley instantly flickered through the people he considered friends.

D-tent was practically the only group he could think of.

And even then, some of the members were not suited to go to a fancy restaurant with people that made more than all of them combined.

Stanley didn't even know how they were allowed in public spaces, sometimes having extremely close calls with the law when hanging around the city.

Stanley looked up at his mom, nodding slowly "yeah, yeah that sounds good"

As much as Stanley feared how D-tent could wreck havoc on the poor workers there and possibly the entire building, he wasn't going to tell his mom he doesn't have anyone to invite.

When she figured out that he finally had friends, Stanley caught her crying in her room, extremely overjoyed.

Stanley didn't want to upset his mom, he loved his mom, he was a total sucker for her, a mommas boy.

She smiled at him, ruffling his hair and starting to leave the room "We'll pick you and your friends up before we leave to the restaurant, I'm sure they'll all fit in the van..might be a tight squeeze" she left without another word.

Stanley ran a hand through his curly hair, sighing as he thought of what to do, invite d-tent and upset his mom, or suck it up and try his best to get them all in line?

He opened his phone up, scrolling through the messages of D-tents group chat , knowing he'd 100% invite Hector.

He looked through the other contacts.

Magnet and Pit were a little tamer, still, they had their perks.

He looked at Squid, Zigzag, and X-ray next.

He exhaled through his teeth, groaning, two out of three of them would probably be impossible to deal with.

He'd just have to try.

Stanley sent a text to everyone in the gc.

Surprisingly (and maybe to Stanley's discomfort, everyone agreed to come.

Stanley was most excited by Hectors arrival.

Stanley and him were dating yes, and had literally hung out every day for as long as they could, but Stanley never properly did anything involving his boyfriend and his family.

He knew his parents were supportive, but they always kind of treated him like a plus to Stanley, not having time to sit down and figure out all of the little things Stanley had observed.

Or maybe Stanley just noticed those things because he was infatuated, either way, Stanley was happy to hear he was coming along.

Stanley, by now, was rummaging through his closet for something to wear, not knowing if he should go overboard and look proper or wear something casual.
