As TestTube rushed Fan into the hotel infirmary to help aid his wrist, the two thankfully were able to make it there without many of the residents in the lobby noticing, though as TestTube had Fan sit down on one of the rooms stools, Paper barged in.
"What happened? Where's OJ and MePhone, is-- oh, what happened??" He went on, though repeated his first question as he noticed the state Fan was in.
"Look, um... Things didn't go as planned." TestTube sighed, grabbing the things she would need to secure the injury. She'd definitely be taking him to a hospital later so a real medical professional could look at it, but for now, this would have to do.
"Don't tell me..." Paper's expression became horrified.
"N- no! They're not dead! Um, OJ's fine?" Fan quickly clarified.
"Can you please explain? If something's gone this bad, you need to tell me while I'm the one looking after the hotel." Paper nervously held his hands together, waiting for an explanation.
"I'm sure OJ told you MePhone had a virus, right? Well it... Kinda sorta took over his body?" TestTube glanced away, as she stepped back over to Fan, sitting down on another stool as she started wrapping up his wrist.
"How does that even happen?"
"Super complicated technology stuff, I guess," Fan shrugged."So what about OJ then?"
"He ran off after MePh-- the... Robot... Tried to leave. If he's not here, he probably went after them."
"Alone?"
"You say that as if we should've tried to go after them too?" TestTube raised an eyebrow, still wrapping up Fan's broken wrist.
"That's..." Paper sighed. "Not what I meant, but..."
"You're worried, I get it, but if OJ DID go after them, I'm sure things will be fine."
"Do you think he'd respond if I tried calling or texting?"
TestTube shrugged.
"I'll go try that... Are you okay Fan?" Paper took his phone out of his pocket.
"Um, I will be," Fan gave a nervous smile.
"Also-- Paper, don't tell anyone. We can't have anyone possibly causing more problems, okay?" TestTube stood up straight now, stepping away from Fan to give him space.
"But what if something bad happens? We can't just leave everyone in the dark,"
"Well they've all already been informed to remain careful while MePhone's out of commission, right? Well let's just keep it at that. Please?"
Paper frowned, but nodded anyway. He turned his focus to the phone he held in his hand.
"I'm going to try to get in contact with OJ, I'll... Keep you updated?" Paper said that last part with an unsure tone.
"That would be helpful,"
...
"This nature stuff is pretty neat, huh," Thera kneeled down, sticking their hand straight into a bush with no regard. The two of them had just made it to the mainland, and immediately the robot had been distracted.
"If you wanted to see nature stuff there was plenty of that on the island, you know," OJ just crossed his arms, glancing away.
"Well yeah, but that island makes me feel trapped. I don't wanna feel restricted. Especially when I'm technically free now,"
OJ didn't bother retorting, not wanting to risk starting another argument. Thera pulled their hand out of the bush after a moment, the sleeve of the sweater thankfully not getting snagged on any branches. They stood up straight, and started walking. OJ followed.
