Gems usually can summon weapons from their gems. If they do not summon weapons, they will likely have a power to make up for the absence of a weapon. (Ex. Lapis Lazuli doesn't seem to have a weapon but can manipulate water)
The weapon can be just about anything, but it must go with the color scheme of the Gem/Gem's appearance. (Basically just change the colors to fit the color palette of your Gem) And logically, the weapon should be a reasonable size for your Gem to pull out of her gemstone. (To simply put it, if the gem is a tiny dot, it's best that they not pull out a big war hammer)
You can also get creative with powers, from elemental manipulation to communicating with animals, there are a bunch of possibilities.
