The Country Girl falling for the Bad Boy

Lunch Room

Apologies for the absence; I've been quite busy with work! Now, I will share both sides of the story.

Dixie was on her way to her second-period history class. She took a seat at the front and started chatting with her friend on Discord about Waylon, who had tried to strike up a conversation with her during math class. Her friend, Lexi, was encouraging her to talk to him and get to know him better. Dixie felt a bit apprehensive about getting to know the 'bad boy'. She agreed to it but just wasn't surely sure when she would see him again. Then the teacher walked into the room and told the students to put away their phones and to open to page 354 and read from there to 362 and they will talk about the subject when they are done and to take notes of what they read.

Waylon's third period is art class. He has a secret talent for art which he loves dearly, and his teacher, aware of this, subtly encourages him to undertake a large project. She begins by asking if anyone can name some renowned artists, prompting the students to discuss their favorite art forms. Meanwhile, Waylon sits quietly, paying little attention, until fifteen minutes pass and everyone starts working on their various projects. The teacher asked the students to talk about their work and some done the same things as music and paintings, then came Waylon turn he stands up and says my favorite kind of art is drawings about feelings and different types of sculptures, and music. He goes on about different types of music he says, "My favorite kind of music is rock and country you mix it with a bit of whiskey that sounds like a fun night." The teacher was quite impressed by the way he stood up and was talking about the art he likes.

Dixie heads to her third period, gym class. She doesn't mind the running, but the boys staring at her are annoying since she's not looking to make friends. She steps out in her sweatpants and t-shirt, indifferent to the boys' laughter about her boyish appearance. The teacher announces that they will run first, followed by a game of dodgeball. The students lined up and started off running for 15 minutes of the class to get laps and warm up. Dixie was by herself going her own pace running around the gym. The teacher stopped them after 20 minutes of running and allowed them to get drinks of water because the students were dying of lack of water.

Then the teacher selected the teams and let them play for the remainder of the class. Dixie excelled at the game, consistently securing victories for her team, leaving everyone astonished by her skill. She beamed throughout the game and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to bond with some of her classmates who shared similarities with her.Then after the class ended it was Study Hall then lunch. Waylon started walking to the lunchroom, and he goes to subway and orders his 6-inch ham and cheese flatbread toasted with cucumbers. He walks to a table and sit down, and then started eating but he gets on his phone and starts to watch TikTok. 

Absorbed in the videos, he barely notices her arrival; Dixie enters and orders the same as Waylon, with the addition of tomatoes on her sandwich. Scanning for a seat, she finds the only available spot near Waylon. With a sigh, Dixie approaches and inquires if she may sit there, to which he responds affirmatively, inviting her to proceed. She sits down and then starts to eat she gets on her phone and starts watching YouTube videos of her old hometown. Waylon looked over and asked what the video is about, and she told him it's her hometown. 

They sat together, exchanging stories from their lives. Waylon shared only the happy memories, like his youthful adventures and visits to the lake in the next town with his mother. Dixie recalled the joyous times in the fields of her farmhouse, where children from different families gathered. As they got to know each other, fifteen minutes of lunch passed. Waylon inquired if Dixie had a significant other, to which she replied, "No, I don't. I'm not really into the whole dating scene; I'm just not anyone's type." Waylon nodded, then the bell rang, they exchanged Snapchat details and continued with their day.
