Two weeks had passed since Virgil had returned to the flower shop. Two weeks had passed since he saw Abigail, or spoke to the girl.
The following game was an away match with Tottenham, Virgil obviously wasn't in Liverpool for a few days, and therefore couldn't visit the shop.
The next match would be a Champions League match against Napoli, and it would take place at the Italian stadium.
Champions League meant more training for the scouse team, since they were set on bringing their seventh European championship home.
It was only the group stage, but Liverpool desperately wanted to bring home their seventh title home- and didn't want to risk leaving the competition early on.
The training along with the two away matches meant Virgil didn't have much free time, since he was training or traveling. His body was tired, but it was prepared for the Italian team's clash.
Abigail had been watching Liverpool's games at work and at home, seeing their 2-1 win against Tottenham and anticipating their game against Napoli.
She didn't hold the fact that he hadn't visited her against him, but it didn't take way from the fact that she missed the man.
Everyday she would hope he walked through the shop's front door again, even though she knew he was in a different country.
The day that the UCL match finally came, Abigail had a day off so she got to watch in the comfort of her own home and couch.
She watched the two teams attempt to attack and defend, but in the end neither team succeeded nor failed.
The game ended with a draw, with goals from Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Liverpool's Darwin Núñez.
The girl saw the social media posts on her phone from the scouse team and found herself looking for the team's captain in every photo, and to her luck he was in many.
Abigail studied the photos before getting herself ready for bed, hoping she would see Virgil soon.
