drabble 1: at the first sight (version 2: 500-word revisited version)

『opening author note』

at first, i decided to write my first drabble to be exactly five hundred words and my first ficlet to be exactly one thousand words for the reason of being formal. now i decided to fix it since it's getting clearer that this method would cause some damages. i hope this revision will fix that.

Kai was a player. A boy who would chase random pretty girls and dump them after he mess them up. He was egoistic. A boy who would only think about himself. A good-looking guy who use his quality appearance as his chance to make a trap, a tool that would make all girls fall into his hands.

But then one time at a nighttime, early morning, before dawn, at the long big dock, something is about to change.

In a line of people, the boy who stand in almost the end of a line saw a girl from the front of line blinked both of her eyes as she turned her head right at him that far and somehow smiled at him. An orange hooded girl. Skylor.

The boy got shocked a bit and confused at the action, but immediately, for the first time in his life, he got flattered in a way towards someone. He do like good-looking females but never have certain feelings to any of the ones he ever looked at. And he usually chase pretty girls for his personal reputation, not attached feelings. But that early morning before dawn in the dock, the boy finally feel the feelings that possibly everyone has ever talked and or joked about.

The boy finally fell in love. Yet...at the first sight.

The male immediately fell in love with the most beautiful female in the whole wide universe.

Since that moment in the dock until the end of the mission, the thing he mostly could ever think was her. He is curious about her. Who is she behind that mysterious aura? Why did she suddenly smiled at him? Why doesn't she want to tell him what her elemental power is? Why did she sneak around the forest and meet him like that? Huge curiosity is a part of the experience of falling in love and the boy hasn't found out about any of the questions about the girl.

When the truth has been revealed to be the girl being the daughter of the current villain that the boy was facing at the mission at the time, the boy got heartbroken really hard. The girl's last name is Chen. The boy can finally feel the hurting feelings that his victims has been experiencing due to the deeds he used to do before the tournament event of his career.

The girl tried to explain the reason why she have to betray him but of course the boy is still focused to his feelings about the recent revelation. When he admitted he actually has feelings for her throughout the events of current mission-without knowing whether is it planned to be or not even planned to be him falling into the type of a trap, made by her father or she herself-the girl flattered at the confession. She liked him back.

That was the time she don't want to hold back anymore the thought of do the right things.

At the end of the mission, at the last sight of the boy towards the girl walking through the desert, the girl got him wondering whether he will see her again. Who knows he will need her for future mission as an ally. Someday.

i'm planning to write a shorter and longer versions of my first kailor drabble and ficlet for a reason. after that, you can expect for a whole new content from me. hopefully my first kailor oneshot will be safely published in february 2024.
