Episode 1: digging the surface (part 1)

It was the first day back to school since the summer holidays, and everyone had to go back to school and work, apart from Jacob and logan.

In pheobe and skylar's room, their mother, Faye had burst in with excitement with pheobe's school clothes.
"Morning girlies! Who's ready for their first day back to school!".

Skylar slowly opened her eyes, to reveal her mother holding her sisters school clothes, which only meant one thing
"NO! My nightmare has came to life!".

Pheobe asked
"What even is that bad about school?".

Skylar gulped
"Phoebe you do not want to go! It is torture, they make you learn about maths!".

pheobe shrieked
"I don't know what that is but I'm scared!".

Faye rolled her eyes and gave Pheobe her school clothes
"Skylar, stop scaring your sister!".

Skylar scoffed
"But I was only warning her about school!".

Pheobe kicked her school clothes off the bed
"I'm not going!".

Faye groaned
"Thanks for helping skylar,".

Skylar smiled innocently
"Your welcome mummy!".

Faye tusked
"I was being sarcastic but nevermind, pheobe you have to put your uniform on!".

pheobe sulked
"No! I'm not going!".

Faye sighed
"Look, do you want to turn out like Logan?",

Skylar rubbed her head
"What even happened to him".

Pheobe laughed
"Do you actually not know?".

Skylar stood there silently
"No".

Faye snapped
"We don't have time for all this faff, just get ready please, I can't have both of your reports be the worst in the class again".

Skylar stuck her tongue out at pheobe
"Yeah, pheobe!".

Faye left the room, chuckling
"I was talking to you too skylar".

Now that Faye had left the room, pheobe whispered to skylar
"Ugh, I wish there was a way we could get out of school".

That's when skylar got an idea
"Hey, I think I might know how!".

Then, skylar whispered a plan into pheobe's ear, with both of them nodding mischievously...

- the hallway -

Orlaith was doing the morning checkup on everyone, with a notepad and pen, making sure that everyone was ready and was well enough to go to school.

She glanced at her notepad and circled the first person on the list
"Ok, so first I'll check up on Lacey".

She walked along the corridor until she came up to Lacey's door, which read 'do not disturb'. Orliath went and knocked anyway
"Lacey? You awake?".

There was no answer at the door, so Orlaith tried opening the door, only to remember that she had a lock
"Oh for gods sake, how am I even supposed to check up on her now?".

She looked back at her notepad and just decided to put a question mark next to Lacey's name, which has also been circled, to then look at the second person on the list
"Ok, so next I have to check Amelia, this should be easy, right?"

Luckily for orliath, Amelia's room was just on the corner of the corridor, only about 2 rooms away, so she sternly marched over to the door and knocked.

- inside Amelia's room -

Amelia was busy giving her pet axolotl, cheesecake, some of her food
"There you go!".
