Brendan couldn't feel himself anymore.

Beams of light and swirls of words whooshed past as he dived headfirst, screaming. Before he even knew what was happening, he landed on the ground with a thump.

Gasping nervously, Brendan touched his hand to make sure he was still alive. The fall had shocked him to the core so much that he was certain he couldn't even move anymore.

Brushing himself off, his breath was immediately taken away when he laid eyes on the environment around him.

His eight-year old's creation turned out to be more fascinating and well prepared than expected. Walking along the panels, he remembered he even designed a ship for the Avengers' kids, mostly required for their training and growing.

He couldn't help but feel nostalgic. Until now, he had forgotten how much this story meant to him. Billions of stars and galaxies glimmered above him, casting a great Milky Way that brightened up the whole place.

An overwhelming feeling of amazement took over him. The portal potion worked! It worked! It instantly occur to him that he didn't know he was so capable of such imagination. He wondered if he still had that spark in him.

Before he got completely lost in wonder, the sound of children's laughter brought him back to reality.

" Morgan!" a familiar voice said. " I bet you can't race with me towards the penthouse."

" You wish, Tommy." another voice laughed. " You can't beat me this suit."

Just before the two kids whoosh past the corner, Brendan caught a glimpse of their faces.

As it wasn't the infamous Morgan Stark and Tommy Shepherd, he suddenly realised where all of the familiarity came from.

Rewritten from the original characters, this time he only made them older and more mature. He couldn't believe he didn't recognise his characters at first glance.

Within a flash, the two of them were suddenly back in the Avengers ship. All of the racing was making them sweat uncontrollably, even Tommy looked like he was on the edge of passing out.

" Well," Morgan smirked, taking off her helmet. " Looks like I won."

As it was Brendan's first encounter with his character, a mash of excitement and nervousness rushed in.

" That's because you cheated." Tommy rolled his eyes.

Even though it was happening, he still couldn't believe his characters were standing right in front of him as real human beings. His old creation was relighting every aspect of his childhood, this was every author's dream come true.

Hiding behind the Avengers ship's gear, he took a deep breath and waited until Morgan and Tommy were ready. Okay, it's now or never.

Approaching the kids, he decided to put on the act as a foreigner. Revealing his true identity might be too risky for now. The worst part was that he wasn't even sure they would believe him.

"Excuse me," Brendan nervously said. " Do you two go by the name Morgan Stark and Tommy Sheperd?"

His characters whirled around, surprised by the sudden presence of Brendan. Out of all the years they had lived here, they had never seen someone like him before.

Morgan and Tommy exchanged a nervous glance.

" Yes," Morgan secretly raised her defences. " And who are you?"
