"Chloe?", I heard someone say behind me, I turned around and standing there was a guy adjusting his glasses on his perfectly sculpted nose.
"Hey", I glanced down at the paper in my hand, "Jeremy?"
"Yep, nice to meet you", he smiled and I nodded, relieved I hadn't gotten Michael as a partner. I looked around the class and saw him talking to some other guy, who I guessed what his partner, poor guy.
"Okay settle down everyone", Mrs Parham said and everyone returned to their seats, "Before I give you the eggs, I want you to do your research on this topic, I want a five hundred-word essay on the topic of Reproduction in animals, the main focus being on birds. By Friday, one of you is to present the topic to the class, extra credit will be given for a PowerPoint presentation"
Hm, a presentation huh, that shouldn't be too hard. This class is gonna be a breeze.

I looked up from my phone again and scanned the library for Jeremy but he was nowhere to be seen. I sighed and started to pack up my things but stopped when I saw him rush in with Michael's partner, Raj.
"Where have you been?", I asked when he sat in the chair on the opposite side of the table.
"Sorry", He brought out his books and I noticed his hair was a bit of a mess and he was blushing, hard.
"Are you alright? You're a bit- red", he said nothing and attempted to change the topic.
"So, should I walk on the paper while you work on the presentation and PowerPoint?"
"Yea, that's okay with me, but will you have the paper ready by Wednesday? Also, I've noticed-", I stopped when I realized his eyes weren't on me anymore. I followed his eyes and looked behind me to see Michael and Raj, talking. I looked back at Jeremy and his face seemed to have gotten redder. Wait-
"Oh my gosh you like him"
"Wh-what? No, I could never like Raj, he's loud and annoying and he talks too much and his hair is too perfect, and his lips are too soft", he said looking down at his book
"Oh, his lips huh?", he turned even redder and I chuckled
"P-please don't, don't tell anyone...he's not ready to come out yet and I...I don't wanna push him"
I smiled and nodded
He sighed and looked down at his books, "Thank you...was...was it really that obvious..?"
"Yepp"
He groaned and I chuckled.
We had just opened our books when I felt someone looming over me.
"Jeremy? May I speak to you?", Michael said, looking down at me then back at him, "In private?"
"Uhm, sure", he said and stood. Michael took him out of earshot and I tried to read their lips but I couldn't. In a few minutes, they both walked back to the table and Michael sat while Jeremy started packing his things
"Hey, what's going on? Where are you going?", I asked, holding him by the wrist
"I- ", he started but Michael cut him off
"I'm your new partner", he grinned
"What?!"
"I'm really sorry Chloe", Jeremy said and scurried off to sit with Raj, his face still as red as ever
"You little devil...", I said as I glared at Michael. He just shrugged and leaned back in his chair, that stupid grin still on his face.
