this is why i love the beach

it was a warm but still a little chilly morning, i sat in an over sized sweatshirt and a pair of shorts, i sat calmly at the beach waiting for the sunrise.

the beach is where i like to spend my mornings or nights, i normally keep an airpod in too so i don't disturb anyone by listening to my own music outloud.

i hug my knees to my chest, wrap one arm around them and look down in to my phone, trying to find a good song.

"you might miss the sunrise" said a familiar voice, "oh you're right" i said putting my playlist on shuffle.

"oh nico? what are you doing here" i asked as he sat down next to me.

nico was this guy i met the other day, stumbled across eachother when him and friend jonah both went so some surf meet.

"ah yk, you made it sound so great so i thoight how about one morning i come see what your on about" he smiled

"i'm glad you did" i said before looking back the water.

"oh yeah?"

i nod.

we talk about random things as the sun starts to peak up.

i look at the horizon, half the sun popping up through the water with a beautiful mix of colors.

once the suns out of the water i stand up, "i'm gonna go home and go back to bed" i smiled

nico popped up "let me walk you home" he smiles.

"no nick you don't have to i mean—" he cuts me off "no i want to cmon"

i follow him.

i stare at my sandy birkenstocks and white painted toe nails.

i feel his strong gaze fixated on me too.

his hand slowly caressing against mine before grabbing on.

i looked up at him, and he looked at me.

he had such a kind looking face, a face that never wants to hurt anyone.

i smiled then looked down again.

"my house isn't too far it's just right up there" i said pointing.

"got it" he says.

he walks me up the wooden steps from the beach.

"i don't wanna wake my family up so i i left my window open so uhm i yeah maybe i'll see you later?" i said smiling.

"you have a pretty nice room" he says peaking in around my window.

"thank you thank you, anyway.. i'll see you later ok nico?" i smiled.

"ok ok i'll see you later" he said as he sat and watched me hop in my window i turn around tk close and and it's js standing there.

i slide it shut and wave.

he smiles softly before walking back down to the beach.

i close my blinds and lay down.

immediately finding comfort in my bed and falling asleep.

my part eats are at work allll day from like 9am to 9pm so it wasn't gonna matter how late i was gonna sleep in they still wouldn't be home.

12:37pm

i roll over and take a glimpse at my phone.

ohh i slept in late.

i rolled over still tired as hell.
