03: Quarantine

Nichole's pov:
I was watching the news while eating my cereal and getting ready for school. A breaking news thing came on and the lady that was on there said that there was a virus that broke lose in London and it's spreading rapidly. The news shown a clip of a person attacking another person and the other person got infected in 12 seconds or less. They would twitch, it would seem like a riot. The next thing I knew the thing that was infected knocked the camera out of someone's hands and attacked the person. My mum was out doing something for her job. She's in the NATO, she's the medical scientist of the NATO. I decided to send her a quick text.

'Hey mom, have you seen the news? About the new infection in London?'

I texted while I put my phone down and finished my cereal. I then went upstairs to my room to get my backpack and everything I needed for school. I changed into my outfit. A basic baggy band t shirt with black ripped jeans and I just let my hair loosely fall down to my shoulders. I applied some mascara and lip gloss. I then hopped downstairs to grab my phone and I then walked to my bus stop.

It was a normal day at school. Every adult was shooken about the news, I guess the students haven't seen the news yet. I went to my classes like it was a usual day though, keeping an eye out for any unusualness. English, math, history, science, french, and design tech was just normal as every other day. I went to my locker and got everything I needed to take home. I then walked over to my friend's locker.

"Hey, Iz! Have you seen the news today?" I asked.

Iz looked at me like she had tea to spill. "No, I haven't but guess what. Jack likes you!" She squeals.

I blushed "okay, okay! Quiet down!' I said giggling. "You wanna come over to hang out?" I asked. Iz just nodded.

We rode the bus home and we got off at our bus stop and we raced to my house where my mom's car is. We ran inside and there my Mom sat at the kitchen table looking tired.

"Hey mom, how was work?" I asked as my mom turned to look at me with sad and fearful eyes.

"Can I talk to you for a second?" My mom asked me while getting up and walking towards me guiding me away from Iz to the kitchen.

"I'm keeping you home from school, keeping you home from anywhere you go, you can't go anywhere. I know you aren't gonna take this easily. But do you understand me?" She asked.

I was going to protest but I just nodded in response. "Okay, Iz has to go home and tell her to stay safe." My mom said while I turned around. "Hey, Iz. I'm sorry you gotta go home." She was confused but obliged without saying anything.

Vylette's pov:
It's been 5 days of quarantine and this girl's boyfriend ran out on her on the first day. "Looking for food" sure... We are getting ready to eat dinner. We all sat down around the table and began to ate the pasta Don and Alice made. Until we heard banging on the door and a little boy screaming for help. Alice got up in a instant but Don grabbed her wrist shaking his head no.

"But he's a little boy!" Alice spat. Don got up with his crowbar and went to the door opening it, ready to strike while Alice pulled the little boy in, holding him in his embrace. Don quickly got the door shut and boarded it up as they sat the little boy at the table. Alice then sat him down at the table while he ate his meal quickily.

Jacob was the first one to speak. "so, where are you from?" He answered. Everybody was confused of where his town was until Jacob explained it was a few miles away. The little boy started to explain of why he was here. I saw Sam venture away and I followed her. She went to the door and peeled away the wood. "Rob?" She asked, that was her boyfriends name. A second went by until a infected shown up and grabbed her arm and bit it and broke through the door. Sam was screaming at the top of her lungs as I scurried away as Don hurried towards her and beat the infected with his crowbar until it died. Sam then turned and jumped on top of Jacob until Don killed Sam. All hell broke lose.

Me and the little boy ran up the stairs quicky he hid in the closet and I hid under the bed. I heard Alice screaming for us. We stayed in our hiding spots. Alice then ran in the room looking for us quickly until Don came into the room and locked the door behind him. "Come on! We gotta go!" Was all Don said while pulling Alice away. "Stop! I see him!" Alice said slapping don's hand and running to the closet. The door to the bedroom then burst open and a infected came running in. The infected started running at Don. Don tried to make a decision of how he could get to Alice. "Don!" Alice screamed while Don ran into the bathroom and the infected pounded at the door. Don just left us.

Where's my father? I don't know. I hope he's safe. He's probably found a way outside or a hiding spot. I know Jacob made his way out. He has a boat. The infected then ran at the little boy and attacked him while Alice pounded at a window. I slowly got out and Alice saw me. She took my hand and dragged me away as we ran.

We ran into the woods, until there was infected. They got Alice and I got away. I started running towards the boat dock only to find Don swirling in circles with a infected Jacob trying to attack him. My Dad was with him. I realized I had a gun in my back pocket of my jeans so I took it out and shot at some of the infected while running. I ran into the water, kicking the infected away, and jumped into the boat. "Go, go, go!" I screamed while Don sped away with the help of my Dad.
