Forests and Castles

I was breathing steadily, even though I shouldn't be. My heart was pounding rapidly, but my breath stayed calm. I was running so fast most people would think it was for my life. But I wasn't, cause I never had a reason to be.

Sure, I often pulled pranks and spray painted at my school, Auradon Prep, but unlike most, I never got caught. School was so dull. I was the smartest in my class, and I was never taught anything interesting or new.

I picked up the pace when I heard a low growl close behind me. I ran through bushes and ferns, scratching myself on a small tree. I grimaced slightly, distracting me from my running.

Without my full attention focused on my path, I tripped on a large tree root. I quickly put my arms in front of me as I tumbled in a small ball to not get hurt. I rolled into a large tree stump, hitting my head, HARD.I rubbed my head, knowing that I possibly had a concussion.

All of a sudden, the bushes in front of me rustled. I sighed, accepting defeat to the animal in the bush. A large wolf jumped out of the bush that rustled, and came up to me and started licking my face.

"Sible! Stop!" I laughed, trying to push him off me, but he wouldn't budge.

I continued laughing, until my hood fell down. My ears were revealed, pointy and weird as always. I gasped, and quickly swung my hood back up.

Well, I guess I should explain my ears. OK, so it's a long story, but the basic reason is my dad. Bet you heard of him.

You probably know the story of Little Red Riding hood. Brought a basket of sweets to a wolf disguised as her grandma, blah blah blah. But you probably didn't know that she fell in love with that wolf. The Big Bad Wolf, as in the villain in a lot of stories.Well, Red Riding married her story villain, and they were happy.

Well, until the hunter showed up.

The hunter killed the Big Bad Wolf(Yeah, big surprise), and left Red Riding alone. But before the hunter showed up, the wolf got her pregnant. With me, Rae Hood.

So, long story short, my mom is Little Red Riding Hood, and my dad is the dead Big Bad Wolf. I inherited his charm, his athletic skills, his animal instincts, and other wolf things. But only my ears were revealing who my dad was. My mom hid my father's identity from me to protect me, until I was older.

Only my closest friends know my secret, and they swore to never tell.

"Madam Hood, Prince Benjamin wishes to see you." I looked up to see a guardsman above me, startling the hell out of me.

I forgot to mention that my best friend was Prince Ben, son of Belle and Beast. We'd known each other since we were little, so we were practically family. He and his parents were some of the few that knew about my dad.

I started towards the castle, Sible running along with me.

Once I walked in, I immediately regretted it.

"MALEFICENT?! SHE'S THE WORST OF THEM ALL!" Beast yelled at his son, with an uncomfortable Belle beside him.

"The children of our sworn enemies, living amongst us, I WILL NOT HAVE IT!" Beast roared again, causing me to flinch.

"BUT THEIR CHILDREN AREN'T OUR ENEMIES!" Ben yelled back and I nodded, even though I had no idea what they were talking about.

"I gave you a second chance." Belle gave Beast a stern look, making his anger fade.

"I suppose their children are innocent..." Beast agreed with his son, and Ben relaxed.

After Beast and Belle left the room, I approached Ben. He smiled at me, and beckoned me to sit with him. I obliged, confused about what had just happened.

"Um, want to explain that?" I asked Ben, and he bit his lip.

"OK, fine. I guess you should be the first to know. Um, I made my first proclamation as king." He told me.

"And that is?" I tried.

"For the children of the Evil Queen, Jafar, Cruella De Vil, and Maleficent to come live here." Ben said simply, and my mouth fell agape.

"Hey, earth to Rae." He said a few moments later, waving his hand in my face.

"Are you serious?" I asked, hoping it was true.

"Yep! Are you okay with that?" Ben asked, making me smile.

"Are you kidding?! I've never been better!" I told him, jumping to my feet.

"And why is that?" He inquired, raising an eyebrow.

"I finally get to meet some interesting people!" I cried, jumping up and down in glee.

"Hey!" He teased, chuckling softly.

"Hey, are you still with that bitch girlfriend of yours?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Audrey, and she's not a bitch. But sadly, yes, I'm still with her. Also, are you still with Chad?" Ben challenged.

"Um, no, actually, we broke up yesterday." I replied.

"Oh, I'm so sorry..." He said quietly.

"Oh, don't be, he was a jerk to me." I said, completely unaffected.

"Alright, I'll agree with that. Wanna go get lunch?" He asked.

"Sure." I replied.

And so we went to the best place in Auradon, Snow White's Palace.
