Third Person's P.O.V
"Tell me about Ryuji." Killua wearily dragged himself back in the counter, startling the sweet little part-timer.
"How do you know-"
"Senpai's ex." He scoffs, constantly tapping his foot, still irked from the cliché drama. "Cunning bastard."
The intense look in his eyes gripped ahold of Retz's weakness. Despite their habitual quarrels, this girl has always been a slave for his actual cold allure.
"I... uh." She checked her watch. "Let me just clock off first."
"You in for a sleepover?" His assertive tone almost pushed a 'yes' out of her lips.
"Yeah right." She replied in sarcasm then hurried towards their locker room.
—
"Look at you, Ryuji." (Y/n) brushed his cheek, gently cupping it. "I've warned you about my toxicity but you ignored it, then after awhile I actually got you distressed with things then you cried several times 'till you couldn't handle it--"
"And we broke off, and then I'm back... again. I know." He whimpered like a loyal dog, stubbornly keeping her pinned by the wall.
"I'm not going anywhere after giving me a kiss like that." She lowered his arms. "Now let's have a talk before you regret this again."
Their eyes speaking in melancholy as they gazed upon each other.
"At least hangout with a guy better than me. Not those punks." He shook his head.
"No, Ryuji. At least learn to choose the right person this time. Better than me." She smiles sadly.
"You're the only person for me, (Y/n)." His poor expression was torn between devotion and spite. "All I need is you. There is no need for other woman." His trembling voice foamed in his throat as if his next words were about to fade.
"Please don't be like this." She grabbed the softie by his chin. "I can't bear to hurt you anymore than this-"
"I love you, (Y/n)." His tears slowly plummeted like pure crystals.
"Alright c'mere you big baby." She pulled him for a hug. "If you're a thorough delinquent, you ought to be tougher."
No one could've guessed that this menace is genuinely a hopeless romantic.
"Why're you even here? I doubt you followed me." She rubbed comforting circles on his back.
"I was fetching my sister." He sniffed.
"Sister? I swore you're an only-child."
"Yeah. Retz"
"What?? That's a surprise." She pulled herself from the hug, lending him a hanky. "Since when did you guys bond like that?-"
"Senpai! We're going ahead." Killua's nonchalant attitude cuts off their moment like meddlesome brat.
"Have a good evening you guys.." Retz merely glimpsed at the ex-lovers.
They stood by the entrance of the alley, bidding farewell.
"We'll be having a sleepover." He snatched Retz's hand, waving them.
Strangely, the feisty blonde made an exception from Killua's farce.
"Oh.. Take care." Ryuji bids without looking straight, patting his eyes dry.
"Not so surprised are you, senpai?" Killua probes. "You've been pretending you didn't know Retz and avoided her so she wouldn't catch you playing around here... I totally get that."
(Y/n) was about to reply but he persistently pressed another statement.
"I just don't get why you're ignoring me this whole time. You knew I was stalking you." Never he had ever shot an icy glare at the person he admires, but tonight was a first. "Why're you being so mean to me these days, senpai?"
It was a scene to remember for (Y/n). Breaking two hearts and losing pride twice in a single row.
"Forget it." He pulls Retz and walked out of their faces.
"Let's talk tomorrow." She runs after them. "I'm sorry, Killua! Get home safe you two." She gave them brief head-pats.
The cheeky boy clicked his tongue, brushing her off as they continue to walk.
"Are you alright?" Ryuji placed a hand on her shoulder. "You guys fought huh.."
"Will they be fine on their own?" She uttered, watching the two pave farther.
"You're not his mom. Those brats are grown ups now." He pulls her hand, making her look his way. "Do you like Killua?"
"...I don't like anyone right now." Her answer was halfhearted as usual.
"Never mind. I've known for quite awhile." He zipped-up his jacket. "I'll take you home."
However, before he took her to his vehicle, Killua immediately sprinted back to fetch (Y/n).
"You maniac!" Retz made a hard chop on top of his head. "Quit pulling me as you like!"
"Ryuji, I think your priority here is your sister." Killua rubbed the vertex of his skull, wincing from his fresh bump. "Bring her home safely."
"What about your sleepover?" Ryuji sighed, ticked-off.
"We have classes tomorrow." Killua pinched her cheek, smirking smugly. "Retz and I decided to have it by weekends."
"Huh?!" She grumbles, pinching back his cheeks.
"I guess see you next time, (Y/n)." Ryuji gave her a half hug then wears his protective headgear. "Retz, hop on." He handed her another helmet.
"Have a good night's rest, my hardworking little bartender." Killua helped her put on the safety helmet and assisted her up on the motorbike. "Learn to make me a good chocolate milkshake instead of that nasty liquor."
"Hmp. See you at school." She gave him a sharp side-eye while securing her arms around her badass driver's waist.
"Don't miss me too much." The tease laughed.
"I don't!-"
"Take care." (Y/n) sent her regards.
Ryuji only nodded before they zoomed off.
...
"Senpai, would you like a drink with me?" Killua's mood went back sour.
"Sorry. Let's call it a night for us as well." She untied her hair and draw some vapour into her mouth, using pod. "I'll get us a cab. You're already exhausted." She picks her phone out of her purse.
"Fine. Let's drink at your place." He stole her pod and also smoked. "You're not allowed to escape from me tonight."
"You could've gone for an amazing sleepover with your crush but decided to argue with me all night." (Y/n) shook her head. "Are you that furious?"
"Who knows." He puffs another smoke, finding them a ride. "Let's take this matter inside your place as I've said." He knocks on the nearby parked taxi, finally catching themselves a ticket back home.
