Third Person's P.O.V

It usually takes the fun out of drinking for Y/n and Killua since they've got insane tolerance against any intoxicants.

Ultimately, they've decided to go for their favorite frappe from their preferred coffee shop and had a quick pick of their midnight snacks.

...

Like guilty siblings forced in one place, the two had a battle of awkward silence.

An atmosphere they're unaccustomed with—

Both having the difficulty for a topic opener.

There were just a lot of unanswered details he has seen tonight.

...

"Be back in a minute." She surrendered from her half-empty cup and rushed in the toilet, relieving her bladder.

"That's what you get from drinking all night~" He mocked, texting back his crush a good night message.

The male appears to be chilling but deep inside, he's in a feud—

For some reason, his brain keeps replaying the kissing episode of Y/n and Ryuji.

"Why did she have to look like that from a mere kiss?" He had a deadly look that scared off the cat outside the window.

"Fucking hell." He sighed, burying his face into his hands.

...

"What time you leaving?" She shut the bathroom door, returning to her seat.

His character automatically defaulted, barely keeping himself together.

"I'm sleeping over." Killua demands, enjoying the final sip of his iced beverage by her lounge.

"You've got classes in the morning." She clears her throat.

"It's fine if there's no classes?" He transferred to the couch, scooting next to her.

"I'll see about that.." She hid her tension by scrolling on her phone.

Each time he leans in, his signature fragrance would consistently ensnare Y/n.

"Oh yeah?" He pulls out a sucker from the grocery bag. "You're considering that now when you've always been so against it?" He took the candy in his mouth, creating a nonchalant gesture.

"I said I'll make it up to you somehow. I've been unavailable these days." She finally looks at him in the eye.

"Why not make it up to me now?" He laid his head on her lap.

"Always acting spoiled." She clicked her tongue, wishing she could just pull his hair and push him off this instant.

"I'm always like this to you, senpai." He kept his innocent gaze on hers, smiling lightheartedly.

"I'm not your mom you know.." She grabbed his face, squeezing his cheeks. "This brat giving me the cringe."

"That's right. You're not a family." He sat up. "You're not a best-friend either. Gon has taken that role... But we're more than normal friends. I've known you since birth after all."

"I can be your legal guardian. Someone who got your back whenever you need it." She crossed her legs, giving him a proud smirk.

"I'm tired of you using our age as boundary." He had a sarcastic smile, failing to mask his temper. "You're just four years older." He crunched the candy. "Basically around our age."

"Where's this conversation leading to?" She sighs, leaning her body back for a little distance.

"You see.." He entered her personal space once again. "Tonight, I don't want to speak with senpai." Killua planted his palm on top of her hand. "I want to talk with Y/n."

The masculine intimidation was new, given that he's always acted like a brat.

But there's something more on that look.

She noticed a slight change in his eyes, giving her heart a little jolt.

"That expression again." He scoffed. "I can't believe this, Y/n."

"What?" She stood, alarmed. "I'll go get us some bottled water." She escapes to the kitchen.

...

Recollecting herself, she opened the fridge.

"He teasing me or what?" She mumbled, frustrated.

...

Upon bringing back their drinks, she finds him missing in the living room.

"Killua?"

...

And she discovers him in her bedroom.

"You got shirts in my size?" He was already topless, rummaging in her closet. "Feels icky after going around that district."

His breathtaking, godlike features took her in heaven for a second.

"Move." She quickly got him the shirt.

"Thanks." He wore it casually, but it was a hot slow-motion in her delusion.

Her baggy shirt fits him like a glove.

"Drink some water." She offers.

"It's already thawed.." He twists the cap. "Just like your melted expression, Y/n." He playfully chuckled and got himself hydrated.

"Alright narcissist, out of my room." She turned her back only to be pushed against her door, slamming it closed.

"Thought you'd defend yourself. After all, you've got quicker reflexes than mine." He just stood in front of her, eyeing her fiercely. "Is this how you got yourself pinned by Ryuji earlier?"

Offended, she swiftly grabbed him by the back of his neck, inching his face close to hers. "Curious how I act around my ex and flings? You're welcome to stalk us again."

...

Killua was stunned but did not retort after being humbled like that.

"Quit thinking of me too highly." She released her hold. "I'm always no match for the Zoldyck heir. I'm never superior than you."

Again, he finds himself enticed by the raw emotion on her face.

He had to pause and take pleasure from this.

Transparency isn't a variable of her personality so it felt like he stumbled upon a hidden gem.

"It's about time you notice... I'm really nothing special." She utters, ashamed.

...

"You're beautiful..." His body spoke of his heart as he leans for a kiss.

However, the impulse was suppressed before it happened.

"I almost made a mistake.. Bye, senpai." He quickly took off— Fleeing from her house.
