My dearest readers! The next ball is vast approaching and the ladies of the ton are quickly finding their matches. Miss Edwina has been the talk of the ton since our queens announcment of the diamond. She has managed to capture the attention of viscount Bridgerton who plans to marry this very season! Will this be his winning prize?
"Miss Amelia, you have a visitor!" The guard announced as he entered the living room of the Grosnover home!
"A visitor for Amelia?" Edward asked as he stood, straightening his suit. The guard nodded. "Well let them in!"
"Lord Devon sir!" The guard welcomed him in and Amelia felt herself shiver.
"Lord Edward, Miss Amelia" Lord Devon bowed his head and sat down without approval. "I have come to arrange our terms of marriage!" Amelias head snapped to her brother, who thankfully, looked as confused as she was.
"Marriage Lord Devon?"
"Yes, your father promised his third daughter to me should I like her appearance when we first met!" Amelia sat slowly, her hand hovering over her stomach.
"I'm sorry but I was never made aware of this agreement." Edward sat next to his sister. He knew this was no match. Not one worth while. She would be a widow by age 9 and 20. It was likley she would be alone as surley this man could not bare any more children.
"It is all here! Signed and approved!" Amelia felt sick. She could not marry this man. No matter her promise to her father. Amelia stood tall.
"Forgive me but I must make my leave. I am afraid I do not feel quite well!"
"Amelia, shall i send for the doctor?" Edward asked worries.
"No, no...i am just hungry...and tired from last nights ball. I'm sure rest will help!" Amelia bowed her head at the gentlemen and left, heading not for her bedroom, but the front doors.
Granvilles estate.
"Benedict! My old friend! How on Earth are you my boy!" Granville greeted the second born brother with a firm handshake. His other hand resting on Benedicts shoulder.
"A day off from the balls means time for what I actually care about!" Ben held his brush up to Granville who laughed.
"Dedication as always! No one attracted your attention yet then?" Benedict shook his head.
"I've only spoke to my sisters and one other girl who pratically vanished when I turned my head. I didn't even get her name!"
"Well there are certainly more balls to come. Maybe you shall find her again." Granville smiled as Benedict left his side with a chuckle.
"Father! Father!" Amelia barged into her fathers office, short of breath and rage flowing through her.
"Darling, whatever is the matter?" Granville stood.
"You married me off? TO LORD DEVON!" Amelia shouted at her father, pacing the room.
"I'm sorry?" Granville stood straight.
