Y/n's POV

‚And then he greeted Death as an old friend, and went with him gladly, and, equals, they departed this life.'

I closed the book and stared at nothing, lost in thought. Whenever I finished a book or a story, my head went completely blank for a moment. As if while absorbing these stories, my brain took a break, shutting out everything around me and letting me forget all my worries and problems.

Stories were a world of their own, independent of reality. Far away from any personal events, traumas, fears. And that is exactly what I loved about them.

Sebastian, sitting across from me, scratched the back of his neck. He, too, was deeply engrossed in a book. He was sitting on the couch in front of me, his long legs wide apart, the leather-bound book in his large hands seemed much smaller than it really was.

Finally back in the real world, I put „The Tales of Beedle the Bard" aside and bent my legs so I could rest my head on my knees. I propped my feet up on the seat. If Ominis were here, he'd comment that sitting like that wasn't good for my back, but he'd already gone to bed.

Still daydreaming, I looked out of the window, watching the small fish staring through the panes as if we were the fish in here, locked up like in an aquarium. The plants floating in the black lake swayed back and forth and their steady movement slowly put me into trance.

I let the story of the three brothers and the death run through my mind again, analysed the characters of the brothers, compared the reactions of the death. When I heard Sebastian clearing his throat, I snapped back to reality.

"Ehem.. y/n. I know it's confusing, but unlike Ominis, I can see just fine." he casually mentioned.

I slowly took my eyes off the windows and looked into his face. A mischievous grin spread across his lips. He had put his book aside as well.

„Do I really want to know what you are referring to, Sebastian?" There was probably another stupid joke going on in his head. They were often funny, but I got really annoyed when the jokes were made at Ominis' expense.

"Hmm.. Do you?" he asked me teasingly.

"Come on, enlighten me." I might as well play the teasing game, adding some sarcasm to my response.

I didn't get an answer from him, only his gaze wandered from my face to my legs. He took in the sight and then locked his eyes with me again. His expression was dark, almost dangerous, and he raised his eyebrows meaningfully.

I had no idea what he was trying to tell me with that look. I signalled this to him by tilting my head and furrowing my brows. 'Looks speak louder than words' has always been my motto.

Still getting no reply, he looked down at his own feet, shook his head and smiled in amusement. If I didn't know better, I would have thought his reaction would be shyness, but that wasn't his style at all.

I suddenly became aware of how I was sitting. Bent legs... with a skirt, in summer, without tights.

Sebastian could look directly at my panties at that very moment and even my buttcheeks were not protected from his field of vision.

The blood rushed to my cheeks and made my face flush bright red. I knew the manners of a woman and this seating position was exactly the opposite of that.
