~Chapter 4~

Hurting me won't do anything, I've been broken for awhile~

{Calista's POV}

I stop in my tracks

"As you wish, fiance" I spoke

"We shall sign the papers tonight at the business gala, Selene is bringing your dress"he said bluntly.

I let a singular tear roll down my cheek before I walk away distancing myself from the poker room.

As I let my hand slide down the handle in closing me in my room I let defeat consume my body, my tears start rapidly pouring down my red pigmented cheeks while I sift through my purse to find my phone.

I have 25 missed calls from Fallon, I sigh and lean against the window seat.

I  wipe the water away from my puffy eyes as I return her call, hearing her voice show up on her voicemail telling me to leave a message was the closest I have come to feeling soothed.

"Hey Aunt Fallon, I apologize for making you panic, I just lost my phone after the whole wedding incident, but I'm fine and I'm just staying with a friend, I love you and call me when you get this,Bye"

I hang up the phone and let out a sniffle, I wipe the remaining tears off my face and stand to look at my appearance in the mirror.

I run my hands under warm water to dampen a cloth I then proceed to wash the red puffiness away.

I begin the process of redoing my makeup.

A knock comes from my door before Selene reveals herself, silk robe loosely wrapped around her waist, hair rollers perfectly holding her curls.

"Sorry I'm late I was helping Sebastian find a tie"

"I bet you were" I smirk continuing "Your lipstick is smudged" 

her cheeks reddened, she then hung up the dresses and fixed her red lip in the reflection of the gold rimmed mirror.

I unzip the garment bag and run my hands along the black fabric of the gown.

"That one's yours Lis" Selene states as she takes out the hair rollers out of her blonde locks.

"Thanks, it's actually really nice" I say grasping the bag before entering the bathroom.

I glide my hand down the side of my floor length, skin tight gown, I then strap my simple silver heels on and pin my hair up.

"You look beautiful, I knew that dress would be perfect"Selene exclaimed as I exited the bathroom.

"Thanks" I send a small smile her way and tuck a piece of loose hair away.

"You look gorgeous"I reply before sitting on my bed

She sends me a delicate smile in thanks, she fixes the way her black silk dress falls across her skin and reaches for her purse.

"Shit we need to leave before we're late"

I stand and make my way to the door, I glance out the window and lightly sigh.

"Hey, you alright sweetie?" Selene asks as she rubs my arm in pity

"Yeah I'm fine, lets go" 

As we come upon the staircase I let Selene go ahead as I took a second to collect myself.

Selene makes her way to Sebastian, his smirk noticeable as he sees Selene in her dress, he whispers something in her ear that has Selene shudder in delight, her cheeks reddened.

I tread towards the staircase, the bottom of my dress gliding across the top step, my eyes dragged towards Ace, his icy blue orbs meet mine.

Once I approach the bottom of the staircase Ace grasps my hand lightly, his surprisingly warm touch sends a shiver straight down my spine.

"Is this good enough for you?" I whispered

"It'll do"he uttered

"good" I state before dropping my hand from his grasp and heading for the door.

The car ride there was uncomfortable, Ace was very solemn the entire ride while the other two were whispering sweet nothings to each others ears the whole way.

Ace steps out of the car and reluctantly holds his hand out for me to take, I ignore his offer and walk past him.

But as we make it to the door he bluntly tells me to take hold of his arm.

"Smile" he demanded.

"Ace, don't be a pain in the ass, mate" Sebastion warned.

We prance into the banquet hall, everyone frozen in fear, the warmth leaving the room.
