"Go...faster..." I mutter.
We were in Ao Bing's car. Glad he stood up for me in that building. The sky is completely black. The lightning is red as blood. It is the beginning of the apocalypse. Ao Bing nods and steps on the gas. I cough again. I may be weak, but I don't give a shit.
"You up for this?" He asks.
I sit up. I wince.
"Even if I'm not, not like we have a choice." I say.
He nods.
"Oh, I think we all can handle it!" A cheerful voice says.
Ao Bing slams the break. I spit out blood. The cuckoo man with the mask flies up.
"Wha!" He yells.
He grabs our seats. I look at him surprised.
"What the hell?" I ask him.
"How'd you even get in here?!" Ao Bing yells.
"Oh, I can get into lots of places. What matters is the storm is coming. I'm here to help you two lovebirds." He brushes our hair.
We glare at him. I let out another cough. I cough up more blood. It's getting blacker. What the heck is happening to me?
"She poisoned you, didn't she? I knew it. She couldn't let you live." He says.
"Thanks...for...the...insight." I cough.
"Fortunately, I have the antidote." He holds up a bottle.
I grab it. I chug it down. I don't care about the taste. I look at my arm and I see the cracks fading. I feel like strength is returning to me. I sit up.
"You look better. How are you feeling?" Ao Bing asks.
"Ready to kick ass." I answer.
